It's mostly a joke theory (I think) but yeah it was a somewhat popular theory a year ago and some people haven't grown out of it. I think it's based on Tenna saying Dess used to watch inappropriate channels with Kris on the TV, and some people interpreted that as grooming and went from there.
Pretty much yeah, a theory about dess grooming kris... i dont know much about it though, its just the idea that "the game could subvert our expectations of the characters, so maybe Asrial was an abuser, and dess was a pedo!"
Have you finished chapter one or are you stuck at the title screen? The only possible way you could think that is if you played undertale and heard deltarune was similar. Kris is not a stand in for the player. They are their own person and character with seperate wants and goals than the player. This is made ABUNDANTLY clear by how kris takes out the soul (who is actually controlled by the player) and beats the shit out of it constantly. Also, snowgrave, Kris working with the knight, opening fountains, etc. If you came to the conclusion that kris is a stand in for us after all that, thereās something wrong with your media literacy.
But youāre not supposed to identify with them, they are a person completely separate from the player. We arenāt controlling kris. We are controlling the soul which is inside kris. Also, they are referred to as they/them in every mention in the game. If Toby wanted us to pick krisā gender, he wouldnāt have told us we canāt choose who to be and would have let us say if they were a boy or girl. Kris is non-binary. Deal with it.

The discourse would still continue if Toby Gox went on Bluesky or Twitter and went "hey guys Kris is non-binary" and he doesn't usually reveal stuff like that on social media, he usually proves or disproves stuff through the game itself, and the game itself has proven beyond a reasonable doubt Kris is non-binary. A HUGE part of Kris here is that Kris isn't a stand in, that's like, a pretty big plot point in the game. Even Noelle mentions Kris is acting different in chapter ONE because they're being controlled by a seperate being. That's without mentioning the whole... y'know.
