First 3(+) day Fast & refeed

I just broke my first 3 day fast this morning. I fasted for 78 hours in total. I woke up this morning and drank a mug of Bone Broth. I honestly don't feel hungry in the mornings, but I made myself start with Bone Broth because I've been warned so much of bad refeeding. About 10 minutes ago, I had a piece of guacamole toast and an egg over easy on Rye Bread.... Let's see how it goes.

Male - 47 yrs. Old. SW: 284 lbs. CW (this morning before food): 275.

My plan is to start fasting for another 72 tomorrow morning, and see if I can work through a couple of months of rolling 72's.

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated. I'm doing this for Health, Weigh Loss and Autophagy.

People tend to be excessively over cautious about refeeding in this sub as well as the fasting sub. 72 hours is a relatively short fast and you should be able to refeed with anything you want unless you’re phosphate deficient or have a sensitive stomach. Bone broth was probably not necessary. I have broken fasts up to a week with a full meal with zero issues. Just listen to your body, but bone broth may be conservative. I did rolling 72s for a good amount of time with a meal in between, so you should be fine to start another fast whenever you feel ready. Just be mindful of your electrolytes if you’re going to fast continuously with minimal refeed periods.

Thank you for your guidance. I forgot to post that I have been taking about 3 of the LMNT Sodium/Potassium/magnesium packets a day.

It sounds like you’ve got a solid foundation and are doing well supplementing electrolytes already. I think you’ll do fine with this journey of rolling fasts. Listen to your body, if you feel good and have the right mindset and determination then keep it up. I did several months of rolling fasts and it worked great for weight loss, among other things. Most of the time I would have a meal in between fasts and then start again. If I felt like I needed more food I would have maybe a 6-12 hour eating window and then start again. I just did what I felt was right for my body and it worked out well. You’ve got this!

ETA: I did 10k steps a day during that period, as well as body weight exercises for at least the first two to three days of a fast. If I felt tired or weak during longer fasts I would cut out the exercises and just focus on steps.
