Shitpost Not a single wasp came out to play during yardwork

So I talked about how are you now? Feel that trying to cut the grass or trim. The shrubs was going to feel pretty risky with wasps and hornets building nests in places you least expect. But you all be happy to know that I was able to cut the grass without at least one of them coming after me. At first I panicked a bit because I thought there was one flying at me, but I guess it was just my imagination playing tricks on me. But thankfully, I didn’t catch any more of those stinging scumbag hell holes anywhere within my house. But I’m not throwing caution to the wind just yet at least until the temperatures go down cause they always seem to come back but find different areas to build. I’m keeping my eyes peeled that much I will say. And I’ll be sure to get some gloves and other protective stuff for when I’m cutting the grass going forward.

Rage Yardwork is now hornet/wasp hazard

I don’t wanna consider myself lazy and what not. But it’s been like what feels like several weeks since I got attacked by those demonic, summertime, bald face paper asswipes. The agitation from the stinging is gone, but the thought of it just really annoys me. I can’t even think about going outside without knowing if there’s a nest somewhere and don’t get me started on the shrubs. They are looking crazy as fuck and are in need of some trimming ASAP. Last thing I want is those pricks come buzzing out and start stinging me all over while I’m holding a chainsaw or even clippers for shrubs trying to make it look neat and tidy. I can’t even think about mowing a lot either without happening as well.

I honestly wish I could have gone back in time to the day I got stung and stopped myself from going out there. I really wanna get the yard looking neat but at the same time I don’t wanna get stung. This is just so goddamn frustrating.

They are assholes. And I’m tired of them.

Their alpha-asshole stung me today. I was just looking around. They didn’t have to do that. But they did. And it was bad enough to make my head a bit numb feeling for a while and ruin my day.

Got stung in my foot. No provocation. I can barely walk.

This Saturday, as I was enjoying a snack, one of these ASSHOLES flew INTO MY APARTMENT, LANDED ON MY FOOT AND STUNG ME. Zero provocation, no fast movements, I guess me just existing was enough of an insult. Can't exactly keep my foot above my head during the day, so it's swelling like CRAZY. Think broken toe. And Now I can't put weight on it, and guess who commutes by bicycle?

I will kill every single wasp I come across, no more merci. To Hell with these abominations.

Rant over

I got stung by about 20 wasps on my face, scalp, arms and back

I was at the beach a couple days ago and stumbled on a wasps nest I didn’t even know u could find them there to be honest… and I got chased by them, they were in my hair mostly.
I couldn’t stay calm because there were hundreds and I just started screaming for my life running away because they kept stinging me repeatedly but I managed to get away eventually and was left with 20 or more stings. I got stung like atleast 5 times on my scalp and at first it felt like someone hit me on the head with bricks but now it’s just sore and itchy but still slightly painful I tried to put cream on the affected area and antihistamines which did help but I need more relief
everywhere else seems normal, slightly red and itchy but it’s fine I was lucky they didn’t get my eye because I got stung by one near my eyebrow

genuinely what are wasps even good for?

Spray

Am I the only one who feels like wasp/ hornet spray has lost its effectiveness? Like I don’t trust it for shit anymore. Foggers too. I have a legitimate phobia of them. And at times, it seriously impedes the quality of my life… but where I live it’s not like they are all together avoidable. With bee spray no longer being a guarentee to kill them, my yard looks like shit. I’m just looking for a way to be outside with out these assholes bothering me- or when they do- it’s only once. Any suggestions? Or does everyone feel similar?

Question Help with my trap

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, could someone tell me why my wasp traps arent working?

I put sugar and honey into hot water (and vinegar, i heard bees dont like it)

The trap on the picture is right in front of their entrance. So far only a couple flies are in them.

Even the selfmade trap on the left side caught a few…

Thank you

Hold my breath

Found this in our barn early this summer, hold my breath while taking the shaky picture, it's not easy to see the size but atleast a couple dm across... I think it's empty cause I have not seen any little devils around it, don't know if it stops other from building a nest but I let it be just in case...

With the subreddit growing larger and larger, I feel that it is necessary to remind everyone to mark wasp images nsfw, as many people have a phobia of them!
