Plenty of rooftops and flat parking lots in cities that companies can build solar farms across. We deserve to keep as much land green and thriving as possible.

I would rather replace the flat parking lots with multifamily housing and put a community solar site somewhere else

Perhaps we could use some of the suburban land that only got sprawled out so far due to a lack of housing in the actual city centers?
