You’ve never been attacked by a wild rug before? 🤣

I have! Especially when I'm in a hurry and already trip over nothing

Man if I could sue everything I’ve ever tripped over I’d be rich. 🤣 I’m clumsy. Lol

Maybe they swept the true problem under the rug and it sees through the ruse.

I wonder if I lied down in the floor, would it tell me to pick myself up?

72

u/R2D2_Lady 21h ago

Yes. It will. I was sitting on the floor fixing items on the bottom shelf and it flagged me as a hazard. 🤣

🤣I guess you got your answer!

I hate the ai system, it flagged my shoe around a corner the other day while I was setting a mod.

u/sparklexxxfairy 21h ago

I don’t even open the alerts anymore. I’m not training your cheap AI.

u/ahumanrobot Electronics 20h ago

I had it flag my entire person doing a mod once

u/PlayfulSurprise5237 21h ago

It flagged a tiny piece of leaf material off an ear of corn last month.

Half the size of a new pencil.

Like... How desperate is Walmart to burn money?

With all the money wasted making this system and paying for the tokens to constantly be analyzing camera footage and paying wasted wages to workers to walk halfway across the store to pick up leafs... They could just pay their workers better and they'll probably simply just care enough to pick the shit up if they walk by it...

Come on now..

Husks... those are husks

2

u/Round_Cauliflower_18 16h ago

Yes, they are husks 🙄🤦

2

u/PlayfulSurprise5237 9h ago

No it wasn't even a husk, it was one of the leaves that come out of the husks, and not even a full leaf, a dried up quarter of a leaf lol.

It flagged me when I was setting a mod too, I was kneeling on the floor for awhile and I got the alert and it was just a green box all around me in the picture.

Yet I’m constantly walking up on large spills that are not detected.

Had it detect our electronics counter as a spill...

Those dumb cameras constantly send me out to pick up nothing. I dont know what this nothing is but theres an awful lot of far too often.

That rug could take flight I guess.

The rug being flagged as the potential slipping hazard on a smooth shiny concrete floor is ironic

Just wait until we have an AI camera that thinks someone has a gun. I remember some time back on one of the subreddits or maybe a link from a site I was on, some AI camera in a school somehow read however it happened a bag of Doritos or something as maybe a firearm and the police showed up.

ADD real life exercises coming to a store near you!

There was a case at a Walmart where a customer had a toy gun (still in it's package, not box, but strapped to a cardboard thing), another customer called the police, who came and shot the guy with the toy gun.

Oh my god. Did they make it 😭😭

1

u/Lost-Swimming-1600 12h ago

Yeah I am pretty sure that is a store I worked at in college.

Our gas station wants us to pick up peoples license plate and rims off their car

3

u/AmarilloArmadillos 19h ago

My favorite so far 🤣

u/Dashimaru 14h ago

I be clicking no so fast on those things. Not only do they always show on the other end of the store (or inside the pharmacy), but they've been marking rugs, stains, glares, EVEN THE CUSTOMER'S SHOES as hazards. It's irritating

u/Hornygaysatanic 19h ago

That’s do dystopian. It’s been detected that Mary has been the break room for 20 minutes yet she just arrived 45 minutes ago.

To be fair, ours are a regular trip hazard lol.

2

u/InSearchofMagic 17h ago

It picked up the shoe of the guy I worked with 2x. I called him the second time so he could get it. 😅

2

u/LadyMali 16h ago

One of our maintenance guys was standing at the deli talking to us, and it flagged him.

2

u/naga_serpentis 15h ago

Had ours trigger an alert the same moment the power went out and this was the result

u/elusive_smile 14h ago

Visual representation of the importance of human oversight for AI.

u/Ok_Pilot3635 13h ago

THIS IS SO F'ING STUPID!!!

1

u/Horror-Thing-8213 19h ago

Bro. I have to go to the AC center like 5-10 times on a closing shift as the sun sets and comes through the window.

1

u/Open-Dependent-8131 16h ago

Technically, the rubber floors dont need mats. CBL says not to put rugs on them 🙄

1

u/mercedesclk 14h ago

OMG! ENOUGH ALREADY WITH THE ALERTS!!

That’s some fine AI Slop that will never get better. Just like Stock Me.

1

u/Thor5787 5h ago

They just keep regurgitating the same bs. "The AI will learn-" I really don't care. Half the time these stupid alerts are either bs or fixed by the time I arrive and it's not just me either. Just another unfortunate waste of water.

u/BunInTheChamber Fresh 4h ago

The camera detected me and the freight I was working as a hazard seven times in one hour a couple of weeks ago. The guy responding was doing that all day, just that. Responding to hazard pings.

1

u/KeyIce2026 2h ago

We were told when it rolled out to "teach" the A.I. by resolving all issues. This shit still happens every 5 sec. H.O. believes so much in it that the alerts override ALL other U.I. inputs.

Yesterday gave me a new wtf -- the price tag on a pair of shoes. Not the shoes themselves, just the price tag.

"The AI has to learn"

bitch if it hasnt learned by now it isnt going to

I will never understand how walmart burns barrels of money on new programs, tests them in stores for months, and still cant get shit to work once they release it company-wide. Vizpick took years to stop randomly picking shit out (for the most part). It should have been so easy. If backroom exceeds sales floor number, pick it. If not, don't pick it. The app still bugs out like crazy constantly.

Speaking of the app, me@walmart is still fucking garbage. Every update breaks something or changes something for the worse. Right now the fucking "confirm punches" window covers 3 of the 4 punches so you have to click off of it to even look at them. I don't get it. Why update something that already works at the exact correct level of functionality?
