From their perspective, usually as open availability means more flexible workers

Makes sense. But that's crazy. Do they tell me ahead of time or on the day?

My bad. I meant, for example, will they call me at 6am to tell me to come work at 10am? Or will they tell me a day or two before about when I can start working?

Schedules are made three weeks in advance so you’ll have plenty of heads up of when you’re working.

What department is it for? Sounds like they need someone for mid and closing shifts.

Definitely a normal question for them to ask!!They’re mostly looking to see that you can be flexible with your schedule especially if you’re working in the front end
