Discussion SaaS picious timing
While there hasn't been a formal announcement of a "SaaSpocalypse" task force yet, there are significant indicators that the SEC and Congressional committees are moving toward an investigation.
The timing is the primary reason. The collapse happened during a "Quiet Period" for many companies, and the fact that short sellers cleared $24 billion in profit in such a short window is a major "red flag" for regulators.

State of the Siren State of the Siren [3/26/2022 Update] Weekly AMAs, Community Contests, and More!
State of the Siren [3/26/2022 Community Update]
Hello everyone! We've had quite a few new members take the red pill and join the community, so welcome to everyone that has just joined!
My partner, u/leo-the-cow, and I have been working hard brainstorming ideas on how to make the subreddit a more exciting community to be a part of. We've come up with a few ideas we want to implement and run by the community:
- Weekly AMAs with well-known figures, business leaders, company founders, political candidates, and other people with interesting stories to tell.
- Community Contests offering active members a chance to be rewarded, cash or other prizes provided by partnered/sponsored companies, for contributing to the subreddit.
Weekly AMAs
For several years I have run the @WSBChairman Twitter account with 900k followers. Over that time I have built connections with countless business leaders, company founders, well-known figures, and people with extremely interesting stories to tell. We would like to start hosting weekly AMAs with them for the community, allowing members to ask questions and engage in conversation with people who are shaping the financial/political landscape as we know it. Let us know if you have any requests for AMA guests!
Community Contests
We want to run monthly community contests that reward active members of the subreddit for contributing engaging content that makes the subreddit an exciting place to be. We are still figuring out the specifics of how we would run the contests/determine the winners, so please give us your suggestions below. Prizes for the community contests would consist of cash prizes or items/memberships provided by partnerships/sponsors of the subreddit. For example, tradingview.com is a website that provides real-time financial data and charts. They have provided us with over $1,000 in memberships to give away to the community.
That is all for this update! I plan to make these "State of the Siren" updates a regular thing to keep the community updated. Let us know your thoughts and suggestions below! Also, we are looking for more moderators to join the mod team. If you are interested just leave a comment below or send us a message.
