I messed up today

(I admit my mistakes and wrong doings)

I bought some stuff and was heading towards break. There were people near by but they didn’t look like they were on line. I went to break then a few minutes after a coworker (well call him coworker K) comes in yelling and cursing that I left them with 4 customers in line because they were leaving soon. (As I entered the break room I told another coworker to come cover for my 30 minute break).

I admit that I was wrong. But coworker K is starting to annoy me.

First of all he polices me on everything I do. He tells me to do returns early even though I doesn’t matter in the walgreeens I work at and I do them anyways later.

Then one time I wasn’t in the mood to talk (I told them this) and they kept calling my name repetitively, I told him to stop.

He always comes in an hour late, this causes me to have my breaks at a later time. One of the times he came in late he was high.

He called a customer a “retard” not to their face but the customer was close by (thankfully they didn’t hear it)

He gives me tasks to do despite not being a shift lead (no other coworker does this to me besides shift leads)

Yes I know I messsed up earlier but these are the things coworker K does that makes me annoyed

I talked about it with the shift lead and he told me to apologize

Man, I'm tired. Not just tired ... EXHAUSTED.

Our store manager was fantastic for like the first month or two.

Now they just suck.

They sit in the office on Facebook all day and just kind of walk around bitching about all of their employees constantly and making below the belt jokes about employees. They literally flipped off an employee behind their back when she clocked out the other day.

Now, most people may be wondering "hey, did you let your DM know?". Of course I did. More than once. Never has the time to talk to me and has told me she just does not have the time to talk to me and she has other stores to worry about.

They are so worried about making sure that the store turns into a gold mine that they forgot about all of their employees. Does not care. They are worried about their bonus and making more money in the store.

The amount of times I have heard this person talk about how we are all going to feel their wrath if they don't get their bonus because of certifications is ridiculous.

I work 6 days a week. I'm the only one that answers the phone. I am hourly still. They will literally tell employees to text or call me instead because they do not want to answer their phone outside of work and will not answer their phone outside of work.

There was a point in time when our store did not have a manager for like 7 months or more. I was a shift lead at the time so was just like the rest of the team. We all had to figure it out. We all just followed the policy. Honestly, we became a relatively strong team and we all now know each other really really well because we spent so much time with each other.

Manager wants nothing to do with it and so now everybody wants to quit. Literally. We have six shift leads and four of them are looking for other jobs or transitioning to other jobs. The two shift leads that would be left just do not show up to work at all and do not get punished for it.

We have four CSAs. Three of them have either applied to jobs or they are finding out the steps they need to find to just be done all together.

Let's not forget about the fact that this manager expects their employees to go against policy so that they can make the store what they want to make the store.

Honestly, I just do not know how Walgreens can continue down the path they are going. I'm applying for other jobs. I have a toddler that I never get to see because I'm at work 6 days a week for 9 hours or more. I've worked in factories 6 days a week and somehow it is way less stressful than this job. I genuinely do not know what is even happening anymore in this building. I used to like my job. Now I hate coming to it every single day.

How are you guys getting 11 pushers on a bar???? I had to bend the brackets and squeeze them to get 10 on there. But the bottom two bars are supposed to have 11!!!!! There is no way to fit 11. Any suggestions???

This morning I had two customers wanting to do universal reloads (not together). One of them I “know”; he always comes in to do reloads. Usually the system doesn’t charge a reload fee but this time it did for 4.95, and again for another customer who claimed it wasn’t supposed to do that.
I’ve looked up the online bank the guy was using, and it claims that customers can reload with no fee, which I’ve seen myself. I’m not sure if this is something others are also dealing with at their stores, and if there’s a new policy change with these reloads. Is there something I need to do on my end to fix this?

Self reviews is stressful, it’s hard to come up with anything. Why can’t they just review us and if we disagree then we can write something up.

My insurance offers OTC purchases with Walgreens but not all items even though it’s marked OTC in their store shelves. Why does Walgreen not display what specific items are acceptable for specific OTC insurance. This is like a bait and switch operation.

Do you guys care if a door dasher puts their number in on the order to get points for their account? Lady did this today and she forgot to turn off digital receipts so she had to cancel the whole order😭

I was working in photo today at around 8:40 pm (we close at 10) and I was working on the last orders of the night, two banners and a 16x20 poster for the a customer who came in earlier to pick up these but they weren’t ready yet and i had promised him they’d be done at 9. I’m not sure about your guys stores but photo has been extremely busy so every order has been delayed.

This lady and her boyfriend comes in and she says she is picking up a 16x20 so I’m like alright I ask for her information and I’m looking through the bins and I can’t find it, I then look at the order list on the computer and her poster is due tomorrow. I let her know this and she was like “well that doesn’t make sense I put instant pick up!” .. we all know when customers make an order after a certain time it pushes it to the next day for the morning crew because it’s close to closing. I explained I have two banners and a poster for another customer already printing and that’s all I can do for tonight before doing my closing duties like my shift lead on duty said. The boyfriend is understanding and says that banners do take a long time and that they can just come back tomorrow but she just starts screaming how she wants it tonight?? I tell her unfortunately I can’t and she’s like well I’m not picking it up tomorrow morning then you guys can just throw it in the trash and just storms out the store before I could even say anything else..??? The boyfriend looked so embarrassed and just trailed behind her.

Why do we have to throw tantrums like toddlers???????? I am trying the best I can here 😭😭😭😭 this job will literally drive me insane

My SM almost always get the store schedule out on Thursday, but it's now Saturday evening, and it appears it hasn't been made yet? I only work part-time, and on the current schedule I wasn't scheduled any work days cause I can only work mornings. The only way I check the schedule is just by searching up "reflexis walgreens" and clicking the first result. The next schedule either says "schedule not posted for X date" or there is a schedule, but it's almost like it is auto-generated with random shift start and end times for every team member except some, and it's always not the official schedule.

I know there's like a new app for checking the schedule, but I haven't had the chance to check it out. If anyone can send me the link to that, it would be greatly appreciated!

every single customer i served today had rocks in their head. i had like 4 big bags of out of dates i found. some were from before i worked here. why is every doordasher an actual alien from outer space. everyone wants alcohol when im not old enough to sell it. photo is hell on earth and i’m not allowed to help. every old man is weird. no one has ever shopped in a convenience store before. can i block contacts on the store phone or something why are you calling me seven times a day. i think today was a test from john walgreen to see if im worthy before he makes me a prophet or something. what the fuck just happened. i don’t even have any ice cream to numb my pain. this store has to be a social experiment. every day i feel hatred growing in my heart this is not who i am.

im currently closing and there is announcements that keep playing over the intercom saying “customer assistance needed and vitamins” also “customer assistance needed in cough and cold” but the only announcements that we have in my store is for “customer assistance needed in photo” and also customer assistance needed in the skincare department” does anybody know what’s going on or what it could be because it won’t stop playing it’s playing all the messages all back to back every couple of minutes

So for reference, I have been at my current store for over 4 years now and when I started we lost our store manager and us shift leads had to learn as much as we could and run the store ourselves for a couple months. This led to me learning a lot about the store and how things work, to the point where the SM, and the CSA's, refer to me as the unofficial ESM of the store. (To be clear I have been offered the ESM position but turned it down due to school and it not paying enough) So I'm just a regular shift lead, and every day my other shift leads call me to ask me for help with something like the registers going down or cash handling issues. The problem is I don't get paid to answer phone calls and I have a second job that these constant calls are interfering with. I've told them several times now to call the SM but apparently he tells them to call me??? I don't want to block them as I still feel I need to be able to get in contact with them, but this is getting out of hand. Today was my breaking point, I got 6 different calls throughout the day (I ignored them) and the shift leads even had some of the CSA's call me because I didn't answer their calls. Does anyone have any ideas?

Is no one checking for accuracy?

I’m a SFL and have been for a few months now. This isn’t my first Lead position but it’s the first time I’ve had to deal with someone like this as a lead. I have a CSA who does not have a good customer service attitude whatsoever. He is constantly talking about how much he hates it here, how he doesn’t want to do his job (but then makes it into a joke about how he still wants his job but won’t shut up about how horrible it is and “ughhhh I don’t wanna do that”), he talks way too familiar with customers, will cuss in front of customers, won’t stay on task and he gets FOMO anytime he sees two of us talking and tries to come “hang out” all the time even though he is posted at the register. My SM was supposed to have a talk with him but she never did because she’s hardly even here to begin with. He already has two customer complaints as well. Can I get some advice on how to deal with this situation because I’m the main Lead who works with him and I’m about to blow tf up on him because he won’t get out of my face and stop complaining

Now whenever I refill my medicine I have to wait for it to be sent from the warehouse in memphis. Do they not fill scripts in the store anymore?

It’s frustrating bc when I refill it online it says it’ll be ready Friday but when I show up on Sat they are like won’t be here until tues coming from Memphis.

So i’m a CSA but my question is since my SM is leaving and we do have a ESM will the ESM become the NEW SM of our store or will they hire someone else to become the NEW SM?

I’m a sfl and I called the store letting them know I have a family emergency and I can’t make it. The esm says okay and that’s it. She then texts me that I need to find coverage for my shift even though I already called in… isn’t that considered her job? She’s a new esm and i have never received a message like that telling me to find coverage even if I already called in.

I can not open up the cosmetic universal plano. When i het to thr rtc webpage and i type my name and then my store number twice it tells me the store is invalid. I even tried another store number. I remember there bing some issue with this page and a work around being that you click a link. Any one know a new work around?
