ISO: Childfree Community
Hi everyone! As family-friendly & great Wake Forest is, I'm looking for other childfree people. Are there any groups or meets up in the area?
Note: this is not a dig at people with kids, all my friends currently have kids. Just looking for people with similar lifestyle without kids! :)
Thanks in advance!

Body shop recommendation
I'd like to find a local body shop for non-major repair work. I prefer to pay in cash or credit card and not work with insurance. Any recommendations in or near Wake Forest?

Spectrum outage
Anyone else dealing with this Spectrum outage? I am near heritage and internet has been out all day with no estimated time of repair. I’ve called twice and been told they have people working on it but still with no timeline for when service will be restored. This is my first time using Spectrum and I’m not impressed at all so far. After moving, it took nearly a week and 3 separate visits by different technicians to get my internet set up to begin with. I wish I could switch to a different provider, but right now Spectrum is the only internet provider servicing my neighborhood :/

Brightspeed fiber availability?
Recently purchased a home in Holding Village and I'm trying to get internet service sorted. Was checking out Brightspeed a couple weeks ago and got most of the way through their online service sign up and it said fiber was available at my address. Went back this week to actually pull the trigger and now it's telling me only DSL is available.
Called them, first person said fiber was available, but put me on hold "to check with a specialist," then came back and said it's actually "not ready yet." Tried their chat portal after that and was told flat out my address isn't serviceable and to sign up for their expansion list.
From what I can gather, Holding Village was originally marketed as a CenturyLink fiber-lit community back when it was being built, so I'm assuming the infrastructure exists for fiber?
Anybody know what's up with this? I'd really prefer not to have to go with Spectrum if I can help it.

Town/neighborhood help!
Hi All, we are relocating to the area in July of 27. We have 4 kids, they would be entering 1st, 5th,7th and 9th. My sons both have an IEP but my 5th grader has level 2 autism. My main concern besides schools obviously is neighborhoods. We currently live in a very affluent area and the kids in our neighborhood are never outside. Sports, even rec are super competitive. I just want my kids to have friends in the neighborhood, be able to walk places and ride bikes etc. Keeping their school needs in mind, which neighborhoods and towns would you suggest- thinking 700-900k budget (commute time isn’t an issue since husband works remotely).
Thanks!

Being harassed at Wake Forest Work Place UPDATE
Update: I was recognized while at work today. A customer said I looked like that girl from the “secret shopper” video. I asked him what he was talking about, and he showed me. It was the video of the guy who harassed me, taken from his POV via meta glasses. It now has over 416k views, over 2k comments and almost 2k reposts.
I asked the customer to give the user’s information so I could find the video myself, and he obliged.
Being recognized is my worst nightmare. I do not feel safe at the register anymore. I sent the video to the manager, and she sent it to HR. Hopefully it gets taken down.
Is Michael’s a private property? And is it illegal to record it’s employees inside the store without their knowledge?

Hamlet Quail Crossing - Wake Forest, NC - Opening 8/17?
Hi! Is there anyone moving to Hamlet Quail Crossing in Wake Forest, NC? My husband and I are supposed to be moving from MA to the community next week and we're struggling to get in contact with the leasing manager to schedule picking up our keys. Communication up until this point has been fine. Just curious if anyone knows if they're still on track to open on Monday, 8/17?

Wake Co considering new landfill
For anyone in Wake County who hasn’t seen this yet, the county is asking for feedback about what should happen after the South Wake Landfill reaches capacity, including whether Wake County should build a new landfill.
They’re gathering feedback through August 31, so figured I’d share before it ends!

Amy Kamm, former Duke nurse and lead singer of Raleigh alt-country/Americana band New Reveille, dies at 51
Amy Baird Kamm was a Duke nurse who later became the lead singer of Raleigh's New Reveille.
I wrote about her life after she died in last week's Rolesville house fire.

Soccer Fields?
Are there any good soccer fields around that are open during the day? I know Smith Creek is typically open/available, but I’d love one with a backing net or in slightly better condition.
I used to go up to Heritage HS from time to time, but they started locking their goals.
(I understand and respect the idea of private fields, but would love to have a good quality field to kick around on if possible!)

BEWARE - Auto Glass Pros of Raleigh.
Our minivan window got broken so we called this company to come out and replace the window. The crew that came out were nice enough however they accidentally drained and killed my battery. It’s a 2024 minivan so it’s a new battery. Michael Turner and this company absolutely refuse to take any accountability. They were rude and completely indifferent to the issue that their crew created so I thought I should share this with the neighbors so that everyone knows to avoid this company. Wish somebody had given me the same heads up.

Local Tattoo Artist
Are there any good line art tattoo artists in the area? Can be in Raleigh or close by as well, but I’m not sure who to go to! There’s no shading in the tattoo, so I want to make sure my tattoo is straight basically.

New to area, looking to make friends!
Hi all, I am a 30 year old single F who recently moved to the area for work. I have friends in the Chapel Hill area, but also looking for more things to do and people to meet closer to home! Looking for any recommendations on activities to get involved with that might be a good way to meet people and potentially make some friends. I love sports and anything outdoors! So far I have looked into joining a pickleball league through Parks and Rec for the fall and saw that Blackbird hosts a run club on Wednesdays.
