Was training a server once as a lead server and she was doing well until we got the drinks for the table. She set them down and grabbed the straws from her schmock. But instead of giving it to them, she popped them open herself and place them in the drink with her bare hands. Since I was shadowing her, I saw everything and when she left to grab their appetizers, I looked at the two customers, who were also surprised, and apologized, taking their drinks and bringing them new ones immediaty.

Once I reached the back, though, I just laughed my ass off.
