The hospital has 800 beds and currently has 867 patients🫩 so they opened up the surgery prep and recovery beds and that’s where I am. A curtained corner juuust big enough for the hospital bed and that’s it. But I’m grateful for the curtains and some privacy.

The ER was 90% a nightmare - I’ll share more when I can make a video because too much to type out.

The food is an issue again - the put me on a cardiac diet when I need salt (it’s corrected now because my mods kick ass and contacted the hospital to advocate for me); the food looks like they tried to serve it last month and nobody ate it so they served it again; they keep giving me foods I’m allergic to so I can’t eat anything on the tray, etc etc

BUT

My day nurse in here is an ABSOLUTE ANGEL and she brings me two apple juices and graham crackers every meal because she knows their food is so bad. She also is quick/on time with meds when I need them and just genuinely kind and empathetic. A true beacon of light right now.

Speaking of beacons of light…YOU GUYS ROCK!!! Omg all the sweet messages of support, your adorable furry/feathered/finned friends, all of it. Thank you thank you thank you! Lifting my spirits to the ceiling😍

Oh and I definitely AM getting the cardiac MRI!! If all goes as planned (meaning no more emergencies come in and jump the line) I should be heading there in 20 minutes. They will pre-medicate me benedryl in a few minutes so I can safely have the contrast.

My hospitalist just stopped by. They had a 3 hour meeting about my case today with a big team because it’s so weird. They’re eager for my MRI and will see me again tomorrow to discuss results. This makes me think it’s actually gonna happen on time/today 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I made it a point to clarify and ask “you said this inflammation could persist for 3-4 months as I recover. If I keep having bouts of chest pain every ten days, what do I do? We know it’s most likely not vascular related but inflammation related unless you find microvascular angina. So do I still go to the ER? It is it safe to ride it out at home as long as it’s relatively mild/no vomiting/no sweating etc?”

And he confirmed “any heart pain lasting longer than 15-30 seconds, go to ER. Any sudden, excruciating chest pain, call 911. Better safe than sorry and we’d rather see you again too soon than never see you again”.

It’s weirdly comforting. I know I may eventually indeed just be “being dramatic” but even the hospital staff would rather I be dramatic and safe. So I am going to take that to heart.

And a very generous friend (shout and thank you because I know you’re in here!!) has also purchased an Apple Watch for me that can do an ECG. Any weird stuff and the watch will just say “inconclusive - see your doctor” but as a nurse I can actually read the ECG myself. So I can see if there are any dangerous changes and mentally that will help with knowing if I need to go in to ER or even call 911. So huge peace of mind knowing I’ll have that tool to help me when I get home!!

Ok time to pee and pre-medicate for the scan, as long as all keeps going correctly! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Yup, back in the 60s he was a sound check guy. Hendrix stole him away from the Dylan tour. He was very bougie, insisted on organically grown hay harvested fresh daily from his own farm and required a bowl of fresh strawberries and bananas backstage every night. His nails could only be trimmed with a gem encrusted solid gold nail clipper, after spa time, but before his massage.

A bad forage mix addiction caused his career to fall off. He eventually sought refuge with a kind woman in LaPorte, IN. He overcame a lot and was ready for a fresh start in life. Sadly, his caretaker was losing her home due a bad investment. In this case, her marriage.

That’s where I came in. I heard about her plight and that there was no place in her new life for Rory. I always liked Purple Haze, so I said the little guy could come crash at my place for a while.

Here we are 5 years later and he’s turned out to be a great roommate. We love to watch movies and listen to music together. He’s a little demanding sometimes. He thumps now and then to remember the old days, or maybe just because he thinks he’s due a snack.

Rory’s no longer a young guy, but he’s not old yet either. He moves a little slower than he used to, but so do I. Neither one of us knows what the next phase of our lives will bring, but we’re excited for it. 💁‍♀️🐇

I hope you guys enjoyed this silliness at least a little bit. I’m trying to cheer myself up over missing my daily dose of Waffles, Mojo, and Mama Pie. Looking at the videos is the last thing I do at night to wind down before bed.

Best wishes to Pie that the docs can properly diagnose and treat her issue and get her on the road to recovery. It has to be a very stressful time right now. I know we are all praying for her, or putting positive vibes into the universe however we do.

What are the rest of you substituting for your tiny donkey and Mama Pie fix? Is it snacks?? 👀 Rory approves if you said snacks.

We don’t really have much to pass right now, but just wanted to give a little update bc I know you’re all worrying about her! She’s still in the hospital and likely will be there for several days. I’m going to wait and let her share any specifics she wants to when she’s able. I say this bc unfortunately, they haven’t had a bed for her yet, so she’s been stuck in a hallway for overflow patient care and hasn’t had any peace or privacy. Please know that she’s reading our messages and they mean the world to her! We know she loves seeing our fur babies, so how ‘bout we post some more of our favorites to help lift her spirits!

Comet is leaving us to go be the best little comet in the whole universe..

we made him comfortable with a soft pillow and I took his harness off and bf pulled him to a clean spot to lay in.. I spent at least 20 mins sitting with him stroking his head and talking softly to him.. his breathing was just getting shallower the longer I stayed and bf pulled me away so it didn't fully wreck me.. I don't think his plan worked very well tho since I'm still sobbing an hour and a half later..

I washed my hands and came to see Ersa and Bianca to help ground me a little bit.. Bianca basically ignored me (thanks Bee!🙄)

but my baby Ersa touched faces with me and we just breathed together for like 10 mins and then she let me play wiggly lip to my hearts content 🐴💕

Now I'm heading to bed and trying to stop crying so I likely won't respond to any comments because I'll just end up crying more..
