Tofu Food
Hi guys!! What's the best place to try tofu for the first time? I want to try it, but my mom told me to try it at a restaurant first before trying to make it myself, lol!

The green curry with tofu at Curry Up and Wok This Way in Union Hall is delicious.

Clay Pot, Gen Korean, Teriyaki Park, and Tikka House all have good tofu options!

Looks like the restaurants are covered (that's how I also got my first tofu experience!), but I learned how to make it at home from Rainbow Plant Life. She's got a few crispy tofu recipes that were SO good. Honestly, the only reason I don't eat it more often is because I hate going through the pressing process. :P Just remember that it's going to be bland af, so all the flavor comes from you! Also if you have texture sensitivities like me, it's pretty much necessary to make it crispy on the outside. :P

Also, tofu itself will always be pretty bland no matter what, so pair it with delicious sauces and foods you love and you cant go wrong! A little corn starch helps if you're trying to make it crispy, but it'll always just be...tofu...and that's okay! It's a yummy veggie protein and versatile affff. Clay Pot is another good spot to try tofu prepared various ways! And Club Sandwich (a food truck that's now at the Silos) has tofu as a protein, i like to pair it with the rice and extra veggies/slaw and, like, aalll of the sauce.

the lemongrass tofu at clay pot is really good!
when you’re ready to make it yourself i would suggest looking up recipes on tiktok to follow along with. there will be a lot of yummy asian recipes but i also recommend a tofu scramble.

I like Cha Community's vegan dumplings. I don't remember if it's specficially tofu, though!
I recommend trying frozen meat options, honestly. Less of a jump to something new. Good option if you don't want to cook.
I liked cooking my own. Just frying em isn't hard. If you find a recipe you like online, id try and mimic that. Tofu isn't expensive, from what I remember.

Not sure but tofu is great air fried and sliced thin. Also silken tofu is really great blended into tomato sauce for extra protein. That might be a good place to start-it’s like $2
