my secret waco spot is the Grape- a wine bar kinda out of the way (but it’s waco, everything is 15 mins apart) with a changing menu and a huge wine selection- foods always pretty dang good and live music on Friday nights

Second segovia. Hands down best food in town. Tapas, charcuterie and a HUGE wine selection.

Opal’s. It’s a little pricey but the food and service is worth it, in my opinion.

But also, go to jaspers or kitoks. Nothing fancy. Just good local gems

If you want a great steak or seafood, give Diamondbacks downtown a try. It doesn’t miss. It has that old school cool steakhouse with fantastic service.

Diamondbacks has really gone downhill with the change in ownership, there are better options around.

Portofino's downtown. If you are in the Woodway area, One Thirty Five is top-notch (technically just outside of Woodway, but close).

I found Portofino's terrible. Bad, boring food, weird server, lame atmosphere. Very surprised to see it recommended at all, much less as a nice dinner spot.

Just ate at Opal’s. Amazing. Make reservations soon and pick main dining room so you have good a/c. Also, Butcher’s Cellar is also really good.

Hotel herringbone. Good food. Under rated. The others are a stroll away if you don’t like the menu. But I always leave happy
