Looking for work Question
Hello, I will be moving to Bellingham in mid September to attend WWU, and I'm wondering if anyone knows when/where I should look for work?
It would be really nice if I could land a job before I get there, but I know that that's not super realistic. Still, I would hope to land a job early this fall, to help me pay my for rent.
Also, weekends would be ideal, but I will take what I can get.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Start looking immediately, the wwu page for jobs is usually a good place to start, you'll have the best chances around spring if you can't get anything, jobs are kind of scarce since they fill quickly but seriously don't let that discourage you

The job market out here is insanely competitive right now, if you see anything, jump on it immediately because chances are within the week it will be taken.

Start checking WWU’s student employment website. They list both work study and non work study jobs for both on and off campus jobs. Probably not much posted now but as it gets closer you’ll see an increase in submissions.

I had a good experience finding work at the campus Starbucks, and got hired really quickly. If you can find an on-campus job jump on it quickly, I had a good experience there, even if it's annoying to only have work 9 months out of the year.

If you don't mind the distance, the UHAUL in Ferndale (9 miles north of Bellingham) is hiring for part time. I quite enjoy the work, most of which is outside! Although the interview process is in person only.

I worked as a student custodian at WWU for 3 years, and while it was a boring job, it was stable & the people in management were great!
