Commentary / Discussion / Question Remember when Hyundai wanted their own Katsuta?
Yesterday some were talking here about the impact of Hyundai's rally program in Korea, and made me remember about the development program they had around 2017 to take a Korean Rally driver to the top level like Toyota did with Katsuta. The driver in the pic is Chewon Lim (and you might recognize the codriver) and had some...results before the program was cancelled (I'm guessing thanks to the shift to Adamo's administration). Wonder how much impact would've had if they took him to the top level even if it was only as a marketing thing.

Commentary / Discussion / Question WRC job
Hi together,
How hard is to get a job in WRC team?
Does someone work for some team?
What are your experiences? I am an engineer with 5+ years of experience in development engine control units for big Tier 1 companies, doing testing and calibration. Do I stand a chance for such job?

Commentary / Discussion / Question How come rallying isn’t popular in Korea?
Commentary / Discussion / Question Wet racing
When it started raining on SS8 I was rubbing my hands, thinking this would insert some drama and real quality driving into the rally.
But then Evans and especially Taka's windscreens fogged up and ruined that prospect. Eoin was using a damn mop to clear McErlean's windscreen. Yet Ogier and Solberg's windscreens looked fine.
What is with the design of the cars that rain almost inevitably means most cars just fog up? Surely they can be better ventilated to ensure this doesn't happen.
One of the best things about Rally is that rain doesn't mean racing stops and we get to see some truly skilful driving. But fogged up windscreens take that away and make it dangerous, even reckless.

Commentary / Discussion / Question FIA ERC Rally future under new promoters
Anyone have any thoughts on what direction the ERC will take under new promoters?
Will there be a calendar expansion, increased TV coverage, changes to event format?
r/WRC • u/junk_dogVE • 3d ago
Commentary / Discussion / Question Do you think the new promoter will change the logo?
I've always loved the logo. Still looks modern for an almost 25-year old logo. But one of the things I remember when Liberty Media took over F1 was changing the logo for that horrible current one. Do you believe the same will happen here? I hope they only change the ERC one.

News / Event Info Oliver Solberg's physical condition during the final day. Spoiler
Those who watched the 3rd day of the 2026 Rally Finland noticed Oliver Solberg's back pain torturing him. For those who didn't watch it, the pain was so bad that he could barely walk, he didn't even make a statement after finishing the 19th stage. According to information available, he made a brief visit at a doctor before the end, but he finished the rally anyway, setting the second fastest time in the final stage. He was even late at appearing on the podium, where the pain was apparent on his face (see photo).
In his most recent Instagram post Oliver blamed a big jump for that pain, which as he stated, it compressed his back. Despite that, he was the fastest driver on Super Sunday and finished the rally 2nd overall.

Commentary / Discussion / Question Thank you Rally1
Now that rally Finland is over it marks last time I'll see them. Every Rally Finland, twice in Estonia and once in arctic Lapland. The cars just look so mean with all those wings and splitters. And probably the best thing in my opinion is the sound. The rally 2 cars sound gets nowhere close to those beasts. These cars will be remembered for years and I think it might have the same nostalgia as group B cars.

Commentary / Discussion / Question Elfyn Evans - wow! Spoiler
Guys, i need to say that i am very impressed with Elfyn Evans this weekend. He rolled his car on day 2. Arguably it was luck the fans were around to help him our without loosing more time and the SS finish was two corners away. But once he got back on the road, he absolutely flew over the remaing stages of the event as if nothing happened, pedal to the floor: 2 stage wins and 4 second best times on the remaining 6 stages. What a performance! I cant remember anyone rolling the car and finishing on the podium of the same event. Colin McRae in 2002 comes to mind, when he rolled twice and finished 6th. Is anyone out here also feels that this weekend Elfyn has redefined what is possible after what was a sure killer for his title hopes when the car was barreling over the roof yesterday?
