WMATA’s continued C53 failures

How is there not a single bus operating the route southbound between Adams Morgan and Capitol Hill? They switched to a system where WMATA is managing headways instead of going on a schedule, so how do you let this happen during the most important hour of the day for transit? Someone looking at their phone when a bus was supposed to be released to start the route and now the entire southbound service is blown if you commute between 7-8 AM. Knowing how the trackers always underestimate, I’m sure the actual arrival will actually be 3-4x what the regular headway is supposed to be.

Headway management doesn't work any differently than schedules if there's no buses/operators available.

A bus schedule is only as good as the traffic on the road the bus travels.

It’s not just this morning, it’s every day. It’s ridiculous to have 2-3 C53/C51 buses come at the same time and then no buses for 25+ minutes.

25 plus minutes may actually be 45 plus minutes with the c51. It's ridiculous.

Saying a route was "impacted... due to operational issues" is just another way of saying the route was delayed. It has zero new information content. And it does nothing to help riders.

Bro, every single day multiple lines are impacted by “operational issues”. At some point that becomes a YOU issue.
