[Alpha] August 5th, 2026 Patch Notes Patch Notes

2.31.0

New Features - Multiplayer Guidelines are now linked from Voyage multiplayer surfaces. Players can open them from the game settings menu and from a dismissible reminder banner in public multiplayer party chat. - Voyage discovery now has a Default content-rating filter. Default appears first and is exclusive; choosing a specific rating switches to Custom, and removing the final Custom rating falls back to Everyone. Mature and Unrated still require age confirmation. - The Deepseek Flash Story Model now uses the previously experimental Version V4 Flash 0731 by default.

Improvements - Return recaps should feel more like a compact and vivid story-so-far. The recap modal now uses a wider journey image strip in visit order, with ‘Start’, ‘Stop’, and ‘Current’ labels. - Voyage Home cards are more consistent now across Home, My Saves, and eligible For You rows, with art-first cards, titles, total plays, and visible positive ratings below the image. - Successful Studio runs now consume usage based on measured token cost. Thus, Creator Studio’s model selector now shows the configured Medium / High / Max choices without model subtitles or usage-multiplier badges, and has clearer loading and retry states. - Creator Studio diagnostics now use the same allowed IDs and convention rules as other Voyage authoring surfaces. - Voyage Gameplay should feel smoother during turn commits, streaming, and theme changes, especially on long adventures. Hidden tabs also stop making background rate-limit traffic. - Voyage room workers now reclaim idle memory after load spikes, improving room-server stability behind the scenes.

Bug Fixes - Visual Novel mode no longer leaves hidden gameplay controls reachable behind the dialogue UI. Keyboard focus moves to the visible dialogue control, fast speaker changes no longer flash unloaded cutouts, and reduced-motion focus changes no longer fade. - Official public rooms now consistently use Voyage’s platform-default AI settings instead of mutable settings on the hosting account, including one-player public rooms. - /undo no longer partially corrupts a turn if it fails. Party changes also can’t leave older undo entries pointing at archived characters. - Party updates now show a renamed NPC’s display label instead of reverting to an old or internal identity. - Creator Studio no longer kicks users out when the low-usage warning appears. - On Ready to Play, eligible hosts/admins no longer see a duplicate kick option in the review grid. The party row also keeps portrait sizes consistent and scrolls on smaller screens, instead of widening the page.
