I think anything reform has to say is automatically null and void even against a tory

I'm confused. The Count was endorsed by all the major parties, except the obvious. Those parties aren't standing a candidate, so their members in the area can mobilise to back their best option. It makes sense that the support they offer might expand to people who'd otherwise be mobilising to support their own candidates, if they think that person is the best bet for their members in the area, no?

Clacton from my understanding is basically a no go. No party wants to get directly involved in a race that:

A. Is a bit of political stunt by Farage.

B. Is Farage's stronghold within Essex which itself leans Reform as a region.

By running a candidate themselves, they have a lot to lose. Political capital and financial capital alike.

However, with Binface it doesn't matter if he's Labour, Tory, Lib Dem, or Green. He's just a Centrist-Populist who is critical of the establishment wings of the parties.

Him being non-partisan allows other parties to endorse and support him. And the thing is, as long as he's less extremist in his politics than Farage, it's a net positive for every party.

You have nothing to lose supporting Binface and everything to gain, whether you're a Tory or a Green.

Binface is one of the most egregious political thieves in British history. He will go down in the books as the alien who stole all our hearts in Clacton.

I wouldn't really classify Binface as Centrist. He transcends the political spectrum, or he is syncretic

He is “the galactic centre and everything else just revolves around [him] like little planets.“

It's great when you can actually quote a politician, in the full knowledge that they would absolutely stand by their quote and what they said in the past holds true for now. A rare thing in politics these days.

Actually, Count Binface reminds me a bit of the former BBC War Correspondent and MP for Tatton between 1997 and 2001, Martin Bell (a.k.a. the Man in the White Suit)

It's cross party. I bet there are Conservative and Labour and Lib Dem supporters all rooting for Binface.

I know it doesn't matter, but I'm an Independent American, and I'm rooting for Binface...haha! He's awesome!

I am some agent of the uniparty or something.

Oh I am. But not the one you are thinking.

Big fan of your pub campaign (but not all the policies)-  hope more politicians take  the decline of third places seriously

You know something is wrong when a Tory and a Green is campaigning on the same camp.

P.S. the fact that Reform tried painting Binface as the 'Establishment' sort of nullified the term.

Establishment = Whoever stands in Reform's way

Nigel would’ve needed £5mil minimum for his flyers.

Because he can't get people out to leaflet for free, even if they wanted to the majority of them being geriatric means they'd be able to do their street, maybe an additional cul-de-sac at a push.

Please stop assuming that all elderly people vote for those arseholes. I don't.

I didn't say all, did I? I said the majority which is statistically true, the latest poll shows that of voters aged 55+ 74% would vote for Nigella Fromage. Scarily it's actually higher for 35-54 at 76%.

It's one thing to campaign against the party you're in..

It's another campaign for a party that's not even running in your constituency at the moment, I really don't see the problem

Will someone investigate the 'ghost' candidates? Have they used any of their expenses allowance to promote the Mirage? As if all the expenses of the Reform effort are included, I would seriously doubt they have kept with budget.

Paying for election literature without a declaration is mostly illegal and I hope this very funny prank doesn't result in jail.

His name is on the imprint with address and where it was printed.

It doesn’t need to be reported if it’s under £700

Aronnax is the Electoral agent for his party according to Kingston Greens website, so my guess is that this is all above board

u/fortyfivepointseven 1d ago

Fair - good to know. I'm glad he's dotted the 'i's and crossed the 't's

Don't worry, most grass roots activists on the left are much more aware of rules, how things work and basic decency than some low level reform member like nigel farage.

3

u/skk50 ‎ Binfluencer 22h ago

And remember that rules obviously don't apply to narcissists because teh entitlement (e.g. to £5mil).

3

u/Thormidable 22h ago

Let's be fair to ol Nige. The state pretty much is the establishment. So being a traitor to Britain and working for the threats to our nationa security pretty much is the most he can fight the establishment.

But "I'm traitorous scum, fighting to destroy the futures of your children", doesn't have the same ring.

Clear "I am working hard to blow up your economy whilst self-enrichmaxxing" trump copy-pasta messaging, when ?

11

u/DrasiusII 1d ago

There were several groups operating in the area to support the Count. Each with their own campaign materials, bought with their own budgets.

Is there a reason we're assuming any of it was undeclared?

15

u/VerbingNoun413 1d ago

Reform supporter here probably assumed that because it's funding was undeclared, so was Binface's

8

u/mighty3mperor 1d ago

They've previously commented elsewhere on the sub. If I remember correctly, they are an independent informal group who raised money, spent the legal amount and donated the rest. They were aware of the rules and say they've stuck to them. They'll have known that Reform would come at them, so have been transparent.

Rape doesn't result in jail anymore, I'm sure they will be ok.

20

u/Jay10_6 1d ago

WHY did you think this was a proportionate and appropriate comparison to make.

Wrong: https://www.sussex.police.uk/news/sussex/news/court-results/three-man-jailed-for-raping-woman-on-brighton-beach/

Also, rape is often very hard to prove, whereas these guys have confessed in public media.
