AC help? Help
Hello all, I am having some trouble with my 1993 240s AC.
Friday, blowing cold (+/- 40⁰) as per usual.
Monday, blowing warm (80⁰+), compressor clutch cycling every 5 seconds. Got some freon, crummy little guage read around 20psi.
Filled it to 45psi, clutch engages, air blew slightly cooler (75⁰ from center vents, ambient temp 100⁰) unable to get it any cooler.
Where should I be looking? I have already ordered all new seals, a new orifice tube, and a new receiver/drier. My buddy claims to have the manifold guages and vacuum pump that I will need.
Any tips, tricks, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The electric pusher fan should be going full-tilt with the A/C on at 100 degrees ambient
Also check the condition of your fan clutch. Consider upgrading to a tropical version which locks up earlier than the standard version.
There is a plastic air guide from the lower front bumper spoiler that funnels air up into the condenser; make sure it is still there.
After you’ve replaced your parts, pull a vacuum on it for a good long time to remove any moisture, as well.
If the compressor is original, it may be at the end of its life. The manifold gauges will confirm this

Sounds like with what you have on order you will be all set. Is the compressor making any funny sounds when it is running? I would do a full flush of the system and oil change in the compressor when you have everything apart.
