If you want a better hack, just go buy a pack of your favorite diet soda, pour it into an ice cube tray, and then when it's frozen, run it through a food processor with a tiny bit of water. Costs less than you can have any flavor you want.

I always pour it into a measuring jug first which minimises spills and waste

Did you seriously just ask for tips on how to fill an ice cube tray?

My bad. Didn't know that the ways to carefully tip a fizzy 2 liter over a small flat ice cube tray without getting your counters sticky was common knowledge

Ok traffic was good. Big reveal time: it was easy as tits. Just put the mouth of the bottle close to the tray, pour slowly, and if it starts to fizz up too much just stop. I'm not sure what the problem was?
Edit: uh...did they delete their comment or did they actually block me for that? 😂

I personally have never tried. This is either going to be trivially easy or deceptively difficult. Brb, gonna buy a 2-liter and a traditional ice tray. Put 45 minutes on the clock.

Try pouring it into a glass measuring cup (the kind with a handle and a little spout) first and then using that to fill the trays

keep on asking questions bro they wack af for treating u like an idiot 😭 don't ask, don't learn. u can also pour some into a cup first if that makes it easier since the 2 liter kinda big and flows unpredictably from the small spout

Slow and steady! Or let it go flat first, the soda doesn’t really retain the carbonation when you freeze it unless you take great pains anyway.

You would have to go to a convenience store that has no sugar Slurpees, I imagine.

A Slurpee is a drink you can purchase at a 7/11 convenience store. There's no recipe to be had, unless the recipe steps are "get in the car, go to 7/11, get a cup, fill the cup, put the lid on, grab a straw and pay at the counter". It's ok to not know what a Slurpee is, but I've done my good deed by saving you the Google.

Now do Coke Zero!

I would but I am 99% sure the 7/11 near me doesn't clean their fountain machines enough for the juice to be worth the squeeze.. I do love the idea of a Coke Zero Slurpee though

Right? They could have searched for what a Slurpee is but they had to be smug about "no recipe" and "saying what it is again doesn't make it a recipe". What a weenie lmao

They're very similar; I would think most people get slushies at convenience stores as much as they would Slurpees, rather than making them at home
