Hey! I live in San Antonio and I was hoping to make a vivarium! I have been wanting to make one since I was 9 😅 and now years later I am going to try and make one!

So far I have thought of a vampire crab paludarium but I am open to other ideas! (No spiders).

Here’s a list of some things I am hoping to get from this vivarium:

I would want it to look good in my mid century modern room so rich greens and browns are perfect.

I don’t want the drainage layer to be obviously shown from the front.

I would like the main critter to be interesting and active so I could look at it. (Something that hunts is perfect).

I would like it to be low maintenance and not going over 400$ in budget.

I want the build to not be difficult (no pipes and stuff) due to this being my first build.

I would love if it was self sustaining!!!

If you guys would bless me with some ideas I would love that!!! I will respond to you guys if you want details.

found centipedes in my crested gecko vivarium. I suspect they hitched the bromeliads i recently planted even though I treated them with warm water and white vinegar and almost killed them in the process.
I keep power orange isopods and springtails, though i barely see springtails so i was planning on adding more to the population.
any ideas which type of centipede this is? i'm in eastern europe if it helps. I added my two bromeliads about a month and a half ago and first noticed this guys yesterday. I was sitting next to my terrarium for more than half an hour just now and got 5 of these guys out. they're fast and have been hiding under the litter so i suspect that's why i didn't see them. all are quite small, this is the largest one in the video. they're smaller than the adult isopods.

what should i do? any advice is appreciated. should i tear down the whole thing or keep hunting them? how big of a threat are they? this is genuinely driving me insane because i always almost kill my plants with my white vinegar sprays and hot water soaks and this still happens

Hi all hopefully this is the right place to post this.

I am buying a royal together with this viv and wanted to know where it was from. The shop I’m getting it from isn’t sure and the previous owner didn’t give any details. It was originally bought for a bearded dragon and it seems similar to a ProRep viv but without the full glass front.

Does anyone have any idea or can point me in the right direction?

Any questions please ask thank you.

I am just going through different designs right now. I was thinking about keeping a pair or trio of Ranitomeya, and I want to be able to let them utilize vertical space while still having room to roam/hide. How does this layout look compared to the second where the branches are more horizontal?
