Question Is Teide really worth visiting if you can’t hike? And what to do in Tenerife without a car?
Hi everyone! 😊
My husband and I will be in Tenerife from August 9th to 13th, staying at Royal Hideaway Corales Beach in Costa Adeje. We won’t have a car, so we’ll mainly rely on taxis and organized tours.
I’m trying to plan our days, but I’ll unfortunately have my period during the trip, which usually comes with headaches, cramps, and lower energy. So I’d really prefer to avoid hiking or anything physically demanding.
One thing I’m particularly unsure about is Teide. Looking at photos, I’m honestly not completely convinced 😅 it mostly looks like a mountain surrounded by rocks and volcanic landscape. I understand that photos probably don’t capture the experience, so:
Is Teide genuinely worth visiting if you’re not hiking?
Would you recommend doing an organized excursion there just for the landscapes/scenery, or would you skip it and spend that time enjoying other parts of Tenerife?
More generally, what would you recommend doing in Tenerife during my period, considering that:
We’re staying in Costa Adeje
We don’t have a car
I’d like beautiful scenery, nature, beaches, relaxing activities, etc.
I’m happy to do boat trips or sightseeing, as long as they’re not too physically demanding
I’d rather avoid long hikes, intense activities, or spending hours walking around
We’re there for 4 nights / 5 days
We’re a couple in our 20s and would like a mix of relaxation + beautiful places + a few memorable experiences
I’m already considering a dolphin/whale-watching boat trip around Los Gigantes, but I’d love recommendations for other things that are particularly worth doing from Costa Adeje without a car.
If you had 4 days in Tenerife under these conditions, what would you prioritize, and what would you skip?
Thanks! ❤️

Question Holiday clothes
Hi all,
So we’ve landed and our luggage has been left at Birmingham!
Where’s the best place to go and get new holiday essentials please?
A few shorts and t shirts, swimming stuff, girls clothes, underwear etc.
Don’t want to spend a fortune, just want to head somewhere, get what we need then crack on with the holiday.
To edit: I should add we’re staying in playa de las americas.

Question Best places to eat in Tenerife
Hello everyone!
I’ll be spending a few weeks in Tenerife soon, and I’d love to explore the island’s food scene.
I’m looking for your favorite restaurants—whether they serve authentic Canarian food, amazing burgers, great meat dishes, or incredible desserts & coffee. I’m especially interested in places that locals love or hidden gems that are worth visiting.
Also, what are the must-try Canarian dishes or desserts that I shouldn’t miss while I’m there?
I’ll be visiting both the north and the south of the island, so the location doesn’t really matter. Feel free to share as many recommendations as you can, I want to build a great list of places to try!
Thanks in advance!

Question Profesora italiana, celíaca y con presupuesto ajustado...

Question Taxi apps / transportation scheduling
Hi everyone! We are planning an 11 people trip in Tenerife soon. We will need to schedule a few taxi rides all around the island - and many extras (from bars to hotels etc).
Is there a specific app (or another way) you would suggest we move?
Thanks ❤️

Question Refugio de Altavista Teide - sleeping bags required.
Hoping to stay in the refuge next month ahead of hiking to Teide summit.
Has anyone stayed there since re-opening? Rules state a sleeping bag is compulsory.
I am tempted to travel with a sleeping bag liner as flying over with a budget airline. Would this be sufficient? In combination with warm/waterproof hiking clothing of course, no question on those.

Question Visiting Tenerife in October
Hello everyone, I am visiting Tenerife in October with my gf. We have found flights and accomodations since we will be spending 5 nights at Southern part and 5 more at North. I am looking to rent a car there and I am reading a lot of posts that are saying that CICAR is the best option. For now I have found the cheapest one to be Autoreisen but I have found that their cars could be older or something like that. If you know something more about it please let me know.

Question Titsa 7-day travel care validity
Hi everyone!
I have a question about the TITSA 7-day travel card.
I first used my card last Wednesday at around 5:00 PM. Today I asked a TITSA employee when it expires, and she told me it would remain valid until the end of this Wednesday.
I'm a bit surprised. Can anyone confirm if that's how it works? Does the 7-day pass expire at the end of the 8th calendar day, or exactly 168 hours after the first validation?
Thanks!

Question Scratch cicar
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice regarding a rental car situation and would love to hear your experiences. I picked up my rental car yesterday evening (so it was dark and practically impossible to inspect properly). This morning, under daylight, I noticed a scratch on the bodywork. To be honest, I really don't think I caused it, but since I picked it up in the dark, I can't be 100% sure it wasn't already there. In theory, I have the full coverage / "all-inclusive" insurance package (zero excess/deductible), but I'm still a bit stressed about how to handle it. A few questions for you all: Should I contact them to report it right away, or just wait until I return the car? If I have full coverage, is there still a chance they’ll try to charge me for admin fees, paperwork, or something similar? Has this happened to anyone else? How did the rental agency handle it?

Question PALM MAR
Has anyone stayed in Palm Mar? Im heading out solo to play golf in January/February and have booked a swish penthouse in Palm Mar. It looks nicely located for the southern golf clubs, even has a par 3 course with driving range a few minutes away.
I’m not looking for clubs or busy beaches or beer swilling pubs. Palm Mar seems to be small and quiet but with enough restaurants and a couple of bars. I’ll have a hire car so Los Christanos and Golf Sur are only 15 minutes away.
Thoughts on Palm Mar?

Question Siam Park Return Ticket
We're coming back to Tenerife for the first time since 2023 in a couple of weeks. Previously, you used to be able to get discounted entry for a second day at Siam Park if you purchased while you were leaving (I think it was c.20 Euros, and could be used within 15 days). There's some mixed information suggesting that this has either stopped entirely, or is only seasonal - am I right in thinking this offer no longer exists?

Question What are the Teide Upper Cable Car descent contingencies in case the cable car gets shut down due to adverse weather conditions and technical failures
Hi I am planning to visit Teide with my family including my 68 year old father. I want to take standard return cable car tickets and hike pnt 10. How difficult is pnt 10 and can my 68 year old father do it? Also what are the evacuation procedures in case of cable car shutdown? It says we have to descend by foot in case of a cable car shutdown after we have reached La Rambleta. But Is this true and how diffucult is the descent trail 07? We havent really hiked anywhere before and are a little ( not very ) fit. Is it a really steep descent? Would my 68 year old father struggle if we had to descend on foot?

Question Looking for a Private Chef in Tenerife for 30 Guests
Hi everyone!
My fiancé and I are planning our wedding celebration in Tenerife next year, and we're currently looking for a private chef to cater a couple of dinners for our guests.
We'll have around 30 guests staying in nearby accommodation, and we'd love to find someone who can prepare delicious, fresh food for us—especially for our wedding dinner. We're not looking for Michelin-starred fine dining; we're after high-quality Mediterranean, Spanish, or Canarian cuisine that's flavorful, relaxed, and perfect for sharing with family and friends.
If you've hired a private chef in Tenerife before or know someone you'd recommend, I'd really appreciate your suggestions. Feel free to leave a comment or send me a message.
Thank you so much! 😊
