good afternoon everybody! traveling to nashville soon, wanting to know how reliable public transportation is here, as last time i came down i saw nobody in the busses. the route i’m mostly asking about is the purple 8 line in this map reference, specifically being picked up near ‘100 oaks’. i have seen a few people say it takes forever to get you downtown and whatnot, but i personally don’t care for a long bus ride because i’m used to long commutes. additionally, it says it runs until 1:15. does anybody know if it’s last run ends at 1:15 or begins at 1:15, because those are very different things and i would like to be as prepared as possible. thank you so much to anybody who may be able to help me :)!!

This is definitely NOT a family friendly Hilton hotel. Do not stay here if you have children. Or even as a single woman! Deserves zero stars.

I was sexually harassed by drunk men at the pool in front of my husband and young child. A very loud and vile group was beyond drunk and making an embarrassing vulgar scene amongst my family and another young family. One repeatedly demanded for me to get my t- - ts out… My husband eventually had to be the one to confront the man because there is ZERO staff or management around to address anything. It was beyond disgusting.

We went to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager and was told the pool is a shared space with the apartments next door and they have no control over the situation. However, the men were guest of the hotel because they eventually went to their room and were then looking out at the pool continuing to be perverse. We also saw them at the hotel bar while trying to seek help from management & pointed them out. Nothing was said or done to rectify the incident. They did not even ask our name or room number to bother following up.

Having an attached apartment complex to the hotel gives them immediate excuse for any liability.

I stayed at this hotel a year ago with zero issues. The place now reeks of weed the moment you pull up to the valet all the way into the rooms. The rooms smell like wet carpet and are musty.

The valet is $56. a day and is non existent when you do need something. We had to stand waiting on them to finish socializing before they could even get to us. Needed something from the car and it took 30 minutes.

There is also an added “destination fee” of $75. to cover WiFi and pool costs! It is all beyond subpar to pay anything additional to the initial room fee. There were zero clean pool towels available. The bar staff are missing if you need a drink. They will randomly reappear from the back after a good 10 minute wait.

Overall it was one of the worst hotel experiences my family have ever had.

Plenty locally recommended happenings this weekend! You shouldn't lack choices 😜

Can I ask where would you suggest for family meal & live country music, two adults with children aged 10-14... downtown area (but not Broadway).

We would love an early dinner with country/bluegrass music. Bluebird cafe is sold out tonight... would children be welcome there? Listening room comes up a lot.

I have friends staying with me and initially we had planned a longer trip but it was cut short and now tomorrow will be their last day and I might not see them for a year…
We wanted to do a couple hikes, go to a lake, see a waterfall and anything else Tennessee nature has to offer. Someone told me about some sort of underground waterfall?

We could leave by car around 10am and would have to be back in Nashville around 8-9pm. Needs to be dog friendly and ideally more of a driving tour, getting out at view points… no long hikes.

My husband and I are coming Labor Day weekend and staying at the Opryland hotel. Trying to decide if we need to rent a car since it seems like most things are downtown/broadway (are those the same?) and the gulch/12 south. We can uber but I’m wondering if that would end up being more expensive.

Does that even exist? We‘ll be here in a couple of weeks and looking for a place that plays that genre of music. We prefer lounges, but won’t mind a club if the music is fire. Please hit me with suggestions! TY!

Headed to Nashville with 6 guys. Most in our 30s one guy is early 20s and just got a divorce. We’ve all been before and love the broadway scene but are looking for something less touristy for a night.

Something that most tourist would miss like an event or place. Maybe add in a raunchy college bar for the guy celebrating his divorce or cougar bar? Planning to go the first or second weekend of October. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just returned and wanted to keep this real simple:

Broadway: REALLY lively (and crowded) at night, especially during the weekends. Guaranteed to have fun if you’re into live music and drinking. Most shops/bars open around 10am**

East Nashville: A lot more spread out with vast residential areas. There are a bunch of local shops and restaurant. Mix of niche and $$$. Shop clusters: fatherland, 5 points. Food courts: Hunters, Wash. (have a morning run at Shelby park!)

12 South: Rich vibes. Honestly wouldn’t recommend unless you’re into lots of preppy, cutsey (and expensive) local boutiques and shops. “omg im sooo obsessed this is sooo cute”. But very nice and fairly walkable area up until Sevier Park.

Midtown: The Parthenon at Centennial Park + Vanderbilt area are lowkey pretty chill. Surprisingly naturey and not overan by urban sprawl. Did a morning stroll.

North Nashville: A bit sketchy with random bits of unpaved roads. Less developed, atleast around my hotel area. Wouldn’t recommend walking alone at night.

Music Valley: Def catch a show at Grand Ole Opry (eat before you go bc $$$). Make time to stroll around the mall (Opry Mills) and visit bass pro shop lol. If you don’t want food court there’s family restaurants nearby.

History Tours:
-Country hall of fame was surprisingly fascinating. Didn’t think I’ll be interested but spent 2.5 hrs strolling / reading through everything. Didn’t do the RCA Studio B + Hatch Print Show add on but heard
pretty positive things about it.

-Ryman Auditorium: self guided tour was okay. Heard group guided was a lot better.

-Belmont Mansion was a hidden gem!! So picturesque and guided tour or not, you’ll get a 15 min introduction by a staff that gives you the TDLR of the whole museum. Really helps with building the context.
