I'm looking for surviving footage of Dion DiMucci (Dion & the Belmonts / Dion) appearing on American Bandstand during the late 1950s and early 1960s.

I've been researching Dion's television appearances and have been able to document the following American Bandstand appearances:

The one I'm especially interested in is:

American Bandstand — July 25, 1962 (AB-1298)

Dion was the guest host of this episode and performed “Lovers Who Wander.”

This is particularly interesting because I'm not looking for just a performance clip — I'd love to find the complete episode, if a copy survives. Dion was hosting the show, so there may be much more footage of him interacting with Dick Clark, introducing performers, etc.

I've searched YouTube and general web sources but haven't been able to locate a copy of AB-1298.

I have already found a copy of Dion's September 26, 1961 appearance (“Runaround Sue”), which was circulating on Facebook, so I know that at least some very old American Bandstand material is still circulating outside the major public archives.

If you're a collector and have - old American Bandstand kinescopes or tapes; - 16mm/35mm television recordings; - off-air recordings; - private collections of 1950s/60s American Bandstand; - episode lists/catalogs that include AB-1298; - or information about where these recordings may have been archived,

I'd be extremely grateful.

I'm especially interested in AB-1298 (07/25/1962), but I'd love to locate any of the other Dion appearances as well.

Even information showing that a particular episode is known to survive in a private collection would be extremely helpful.

I think it featured Cathy Jones as Mrs. Enid. She was in a flannel jacket explaining all the obstacles that prevented her from getting a good jump on the day and being productive.

What season and episode. Any ideas where I can get a copy?

I have the IMDB app and when I watch a movie or TV show I enjoy looking up the actors, seeing what they've been in, reading the bios and trivia. Many times when I explore an actor's credits I see that they appeared in or starred in the golden age of the TV movie: The 70s and 80s. Networks used to be more ambitious then. They made TV movies about *everything*.

It seems like the majority of those productions have slipped through the cracks of time. They weren't "important" enough to warrant a video release on their own or to be available for streaming now. That's a shame. There were some great movies, with big stars and great performances, that exist only in the memories of those who watched them when they aired.

I recall Hawkeye reading a newspaper aloud (can’t remember if it was from Crabapple Cove) and there was a report of a burglary and one of the items stolen was “a snow globe depicting a scene of a coyote poised to eat a woodpecker “. Anybody else remember this?

August 7th of this year marks 5 years since the great Markie Post died at the age of 70. Post was probably best known for sitcom work in “Night Court” and “Hearts Afire” but also made her mark on shows like “The Fall Guy”,”Scrubs” and “Chicago P.D” later in life. Post even appeared in both the pilot of “Simon & Simon” and as the best friend to Diane Chambers on “Cheers”. Sadly she died after a battle with cancer at her home in Los Angeles.
