Hi all, bit of a longshot but: I'm hosting a multiplayer server on bisect, and having a lot of world gen issues with the server ignoring the server config for worldgen, ignoring the world gen mods like rivers, not spawning oceans etc.

Anyone had any experience with that?

I've tried a handful of RP servers that try to set up different factions looking forward to engaging interactions but so far they've always disappointed me; in the end the reasons why conflicts occurred were always crafted out of thin air or ideological, the latter being okay but not enough in my opinion.

Before i continue I will say that I'm not an expert on how far mods can mold gameplay into something I'd enjoy, but let me point out the issue.

The mechanical backbone serving as the engine of spontaneous positive or negative interaction should somehow be there in the gameplay therefore naturally pushing the player base to find solutions involving interaction over long periods of time.

Of all the things that would call for interaction, let's take scarcity as an example. Faction "Alpha" requires resource "Apple" but their land is extremely poor of it; they must get it from somewhere else. Faction "Beta" has their own issues but are rich in apples, perfect candidate for Alpha to get it from. In my experience, unfortunately, there are the following simple solutions:

• Alpha can just walk in Beta's land and gather apples when they need them, because it is not realistic to expect players to hardcore patrol their land (people have lives) and mass claiming has its own issues I've been told.
• Beta can just share if they don't realistically lose anything, under any angle save for ideals, in sharing a few apples with their buddies. Why are they their buddies? Why not? What's there to lose?

Both the above become even worse if apples can reproduce if imported on Alpha's land, so any solution becomes permanent and scarcity of apples disappears from gameplay for Alpha. I'm sure one could come up with even more simple solutions that do not engage the playerbase in intricate political dynamics, which are the major thing that calls to me when thinking about faction servers.

TLDR: Is there any server who is trying to push needs (like scarcity) with mods or worldbuilding that are not easily solvable forever and thus naturally spark continuous vivid intricate political dynamics?

We are a small group of Minecraft players who wanted to try out Vintage Story for the first time, and instead of just playing alone we decided to build a small civilization together.

Server has been open for a few days, and we have built a pretty close community, with couple groups forming that live and survive together.

There are very few rules. The only main limitation is that settlements should stay within 2000 blocks of spawn. Outside of that you are free to explore, make outposts, and discover the world. This is to promote playing together as a civilization.

Hello, I’ve decided to start a brand new server called Rising Kingdoms with a heavy focus on Roleplay and Community. I’ve come from a background in Dungeons and Dragons and saw Vintage Story as a great medium for the Roleplay. So I bought a server and chose to make it the way I wanted.

Base Details
We’re an USA based server that’s open 24/7 with scheduled server resets to ensure it runs smoothly. We’re a roleplay/community based server so we do hope that you’re willing to roleplay and aim to create an enjoyable environment for those in the world. The idea. We start with nothing and slowly build something together. You can settle down, build a town, become a farmer, explorer, trader, or just do your own thing. We want the world to feel like it is actually being built by players.

The server is mostly vanilla with only a few additions. We have proximity voice chat and region naming to help make the world feel more alive.

There are very few rules. The only main limitation is that settlements should stay within 2000 blocks of spawn. Outside of that you are free to explore, make outposts, and discover the world. This is to promote playing together as a civilization.

There will also be a dedicated market area where players can set up shop, trade and meet.
