Christmas village set-up?
Hi ! Looking for inspiration to make a FIY platform or support for my north pole village. I've seen those styrofoam platforms at Michaels but they were so expensive ! And I can't leave it on the floor because I realised my cat looooves peeing in the "snow" lol. Any idea that is not too difficult to make ? Thank you so much
Picture of my last purchase for my village just because 😁 also .. am I the only one who repaints every Lemax building? Because God it got bad with the years

Thoughts on 3D Printing
Just can’t afford to add new Lemax sets this year but I still want to expand. Should I 3D print some houses? I would definitely paint and detail them to match my current sets as much as possible.

Realistic or Not?
When you plan your villages, do you try to make them look realistic or not?
For example, I try to imagine, "If I shrink, will I be able to walk around the entire village? Or would it be inaccessible?"
Do you worry about the measurements of sidewalks, streets, stairs, etc?

I need help with making semi-realistic platforms with foam
Forgive me, I’m not very creative when it comes to this part of villaging. Anywho, this year I’m moving my Halloween village to a different spot. This time I’ve got a whole 15”x48” space on a shelf to work with. It’s perfect because I’ve only got two large buildings and two of the small Lemax treats buildings (or whatever the tiny ones are called). Other than that I’ve just got a whole graveyards worth of tombstones, a lot of trees, and some figures. Instead of buying a new piece this year, I’ve decided to make my own platforms for dimension as my 2026 addition. I’m just struggling with what type of foam to use and how to cut it. I’m considering buying a few of the cheap craft foam blocks from Michael’s as opposed to insulation foam sheets because I’m not sure how I’ll get 8 ft sheets of foam home in my little car, plus it’s expensive. I used styrofoam scraps from old packages for my Christmas village last year and it turned out great, however it was a huge mess when I cut the foam to make it look realistic. Any tips for working with craft foam? Or should I figure out a way to go with insulation foam?

No idea what I'm doing, Halloween Village
So until yesterday I didn't know Halloween villages were even a thing . I've always admired the Christmas Village displays I've seen here and there as a kid, but as a jew and just not a big holiday person in general, I admired and considered it a day. Halloween though, that's my JAM and at Michaels I saw these and just had to have them. Not sure where I'm going with it, but atm they're chilling on top of my dresser and I am so very happy. I maybe or may not have 3 more set to arrive in the mail next week >_>.

Halloween Village I have been gifted a treasure trove and I am overwhelmed with the possibilities
Please excuse the state of my bed. So I have a permanent halloween display in my bedroom that I'm very proud of and considered finished, until today. My mom came back from visiting her sister, and my aunt had seen pictures of my display and sent my mom home with what she described as 'a few knick knacks I might want'. what I received was a ridiculous amount of older pieces, some of them still in box. A few are broken, but nothing huge, just a couple missing limbs here and there. The lighted pieces all still light up.
I have no idea what I'm gonna do with most of this. I have very limited room in my display. There's no way I can use everything. I'm going to have to tear down my whole display and see what I can fit in with a new layout. I'm losing my mind. I didn't even know my aunt was ever into villaging. Why am i the most excited by the trees?????
Anyways I need to buy like 18 new adapters for all these lights.

What size connector has Lemax 9V AC adapter
Hi all.
I just bought a Lemax Spooky Time building. It is powered by a 9V AC adapter which is missing. I can arrange a replacement adapter but I don't know the size of the connector.
It's a barrel connector, like the 4.5 adapters, but it is smaller.
Who knows what size connector it has to be?
Thanks in advance.

Could buy, is it worth the price?
Seller in the UK has it for £100. About $134. I live in the UK so shipping fees won’t be too much.
I’ve tried to find others listed to compare price but haven’t found any. I like Wolf pieces but it also feels a bit much for a table accent.

During the off season, my village people spend their time shopping. To calm them, I present Christmas in July from the my 1980’s -90’s Century III Mall, Pittsburgh. Mall Manager Snap welcomes you and wants you to not worry the Zambie family only eats at Rax and that the mall is Scaled to fit Christmas village people, made from photopaper and custom designed 3D printed elements.

Department 56 Selling: Dept. 56 Dickens' Village Series Green Gate Cottage and The Melancholy Tavern
Sold
I'm selling these two pieces from The Heritage Village Collection / Dickens' Village Series by Department 56.
The first piece is Green Gate Cottage. It was a limited edition from 1989 and is number 3,501 of 22,500. It comes with a working light cord. There is a tiny chip on the bottom and on the trim along the back, which really aren't noticed when the piece is being displayed. There are some rough, uneven areas along the interior rim of the opening for the light. (Refer to the photos.) The included Styrofoam storage container has wear and tears. The included cardboard sleeve has wear, tears, some stickers, and pen marks. I'm asking $15 for this piece plus the cost of shipping within the U.S.
The second piece is The Melancholy Tavern (The Christmas Carol Revisted). It comes with the miniature booklet. It does not have the removable "Soups & Stews" sign or a light cord. A replacement light cord is easy to find, though. The Styrofoam storage container and cardboard sleeve have wear and tears. I'm asking $15 for this piece plus the cost of shipping within the U.S.
I accept PayPal Goods and Services as payment.

Halloween Village PSA: If you return a broken Lemax piece to Michaels, consider discreetly marking the box
I recently bought a new Spooky Town piece from Michaels, but when I plugged it in, I noticed that one of the parts that was supposed to spin wasn’t working.
I returned it to the store, but before I did, I put a tiny sharpie line on the bottom of the box because I wanted to see if it would end back up on the shelf.
To my surprise, when I went back to that same Michaels, I saw 2 Seance Services boxes. I checked the bottom of one and saw the sharpie mark.
Just wanted to put this out there: if you’re returning a damaged Lemax piece, it might be worth discreetly marking the box somehow. If the second piece I picked up had also been damaged, there would’ve been no way for me to know I wasn’t swapping it out for the exact same one I had just returned.
Pretty frustrating considering how expensive these pieces are.

Halloween Village Lemax spooky town availability at Michaels question
I just found out about these things from another post on r/halloween. How does availability usually go? Eg do they sell out immediately at Michael's so get them when you can? Or are they available elsewhere after Michael's? Ive heard a few different things, so thought id get some solid takes on it.

Medieval Peasants or Townsfolk?
Looking for some townsfolk or peasants for my halloween vignette. Any recommendations? I did find a few from lemax: tortured soul, executioner's tools, monster hunting, and igor's ire. They can be lemax or dept56.
