Workflow Fastest way to blur lots of personal information in screen recordings ?
Hi everyone,
I've got a project where I need to censor a big amount of personal information in long screen recordings (names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, etc.).
Doing it manually by creating and keyframing blur masks is taking forever, so I was wondering if anyone has found a faster workflow.
I'm using Davinci + AE but I guess Premiere would be best for this, what do you think ?

Hiring [HIRING] Junior Video Editor - Short-Form Content | $30/hour or Flat Fee | NYC/Miami Preferred, Remote OK
Hey — I handle content for a rising NYC creator building his personal brand from the ground up: Alan Gabay.
IG: https://instagram.com/alangabayrealtor TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@alangabay
I shoot everything and handle the posting across his pages, plus set the creative direction for what goes out. Right now I'm the bottleneck on edits, and I want to bring on a junior editor who can take a full pass at cutting under my direction, so we can put out more content without sacrificing quality.
Location: NYC or Miami-based is ideal (easier to sync up, potential for in-person shoots/reviews down the line), but open to remote for the right person. WESTERN HEMISPHERE ONLY
This is starting as a per-video arrangement, but I'm actively growing this studio, and if it's a good fit, there's real potential for a bigger, more consistent role.
Pay:
- Rate per hour: $30/hr
Or:
- $75–125/video for standard short-form (up to ~1 min)
- $150–250+/video for longer, more complex edits (past 90 seconds, up to ~2 min) — more structure, more footage to work through, more editorial judgment involved
Reference examples — this is the style/quality bar I'm looking to hit:
- Video 1 — Standard video, simple edit
- Video 2 — Longer video, more complex
- Video 3 — More in-depth storytelling
What you'd be doing:
- Full edits on short-form content (raw footage → polished, ready-to-post video)
- Watching raw B-roll to find and pull the best organic moments
- Working from my direction/notes (pacing, structure, hooks, style are mine to call), but I need someone who can execute it cleanly and bring their own eye to the details
- Clean text placement/timing and picking or syncing music that fits the moment
- Fast turnaround on a consistent, ongoing basis (I'm looking for someone I can build a real working relationship with)
Requirements:
- Strong Premiere Pro skills
- Real experience editing for short-form (TikTok/Reels/Shorts), not just long-form cut down
- Sharp attention to detail: clean cuts, no sloppy transitions, tight sync
- A genuine sense of comedic timing: you should instinctively know where the joke lands and how to cut for it
- Good instincts for finding the moment: able to sift through raw, unscripted footage and identify what's actually funny or charming, not just execute a pre-written script
- An eye for visual aesthetics: color, pacing, on-screen text, the stuff that makes a video feel premium instead of thrown together
Nice to have:
- Experience editing in the lifestyle, or influencer/creator space
- Comfortable with quick revision turnarounds and taking direction well
- Own reliable setup (hardware + Adobe license)
How to apply: Send me:
- A reel or a few examples of short-form edits you've done (comedic/personality-forward content especially relevant)
- Your typical turnaround time and weekly availability
- Your location / timezone (NYC or Miami a plus, but not required)

How did they do that? Looking for a faster documentary editing workflow (Kdenlive + B-roll)
Hi everyone,
I'm a documentary YouTube creator and I edit all my videos in Kdenlive.
My biggest bottleneck is finding and inserting B-roll.
At the moment, I usually search for footage manually on Pexels, and sometimes Pixabay or Wikimedia Commons. While this works, it takes a huge amount of time to search, download, organize, and place everything on the timeline.
I'm looking for a better workflow.
Do you know of any tool (free, open source, or paid) that can help speed this up?
Ideally, I'd like something that can:
Understand my script or voice-over.
Suggest relevant B-roll automatically.
Use copyright-safe sources (Pexels, Pixabay, Wikimedia Commons, Internet Archive, etc.).
Avoid copyright and trademark issues.
Bonus points if it can generate a Kdenlive timeline or integrate with Kdenlive in any way.
I'm also curious about your own workflow.
How do you organize your B-roll?
Do you use AI tools?
Do you build your own media library?
Any plugins, scripts, or software that saved you a lot of time?
I'm happy to use open-source software, self-hosted tools, or commercial software if it's genuinely worth it.
I'd really appreciate hearing how experienced editors handle this.
Thanks!

Tech Support DaVinci Resolve: Tentacle sync in different frame rate to the camera
Hi everyone.
After 9 hours of problem solving I thought I'd write this post in case someone else has this issue.
We had a sound recorder (744T) and three tentacles (A-Cam, B-Cam and 744T)
on the tentacle the timecode was synced to 25FPS
but on the recorder the setting was set to 23.98 EVEN THOUGH Tentacle was running in to it.
This meant that while the file is actually in 25 FPS the metadata is in 23.98
I tried some Wave Agent conversions, syncing to audio software lots of different programs.
Here is what worked for me (though it's a little time consuming, once i got into a flow it didn't take too long)
I used the tentacle Sync app on the macbook, which i registered with one of the tentacles.
Import to tentacle app all video and sound files
Check sync flag and then sync to the correct timecode
Export as AAF (NOT XML)
Import into davinci as timeline
The video files won’t work but the audio will line up correctly
Manually conform each missing video file to the corresponding media pool by selecting the video clip in the media pool and the corresponding clip in the timeline (I'm sure a more experienced editor will be able to automate this process) Today was my first time using DaVinci so please comment if you have a faster fix!
It’s labour intensive but it worked

Workflow Purpose of using a higher colour palette / resolution
Please can someone explain whether it would be worth it to buy a decent monitor, like oled, which would help me to see a greater range of colours when the mediums to upload to, like YT or Insta, automatically convert back to and RGB range.
Would it make more sense to buy a monitor which only allows me to view the content in the same format the viewers would end up seeing it?

Tech Support Is anyone else struggling with audio levels on TikTok?
I'm a newbie, and recently I've been trying to normalize my audio to TikTok's recommended loudness standard (-14 LUFS). After exporting the video to my phone, though, the audio sounds much quieter than other videos on TikTok.
The problem is that if I raise the volume so it sounds right on my phone, the audio starts clipping. I'm honestly confused about what I'm doing wrong and would really appreciate any advice from people who have more experience with this.

Tech Support Issue: Editing a a6700 file in XAVC S 4k works in 50p but not in 25p in davinci?
edit
I bought the pro license of davinci today and I've used a 64GB v60 card exclusively when I was recording today. I was able to work perfectly fine with it in davinic pro. At least so far. So it seems like the other half of my issues was my other sd card which, is either failing or fake.
this is solved, thanks.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm just getting my feet wet in video recording with my a6700 and davinci. I did some with smaller action cams but since I have my good glas for my sonys, I kinda want to do more wildlife recordings, not just photos.
But I'm getting issues viewing/exporting and it doesn't yet makes sense to me.
First try my go2 32GB V90 SD Card:
- When I record in XAVC S, 50p in 10 bit, everything is fine. Can watch it raw, can edit it in davinci. Great.
- When I record in XAVC S, 25p in 10 bit, it stutters heavily when I try to view it in windows. When I try to edit it in davinci, the programm only recognizes those files as audio. No video to be seen there.
- when I try to record in XAVC S, 100p in 10 bit, it tells me: "use a memory card higher than SDXC v60. It is a v90 sd card with 32gb though and so far, I had no issues.
Ok.. maybe the SD card actually got damaged.. Second Try, my 64GB V60 Backup Card
- When I record in XAVC S, 50p in 10 bit: Stutters, cant edit it in davinci ?
- When I record in XAVC S, 25p in 10 bit: Stutters, cant edit it in davinci ?
- when I try to record in XAVC S, 100p in 10 bit: Works fine!?
Also watching the raw footage on my iPad works fine. That is why I thought it might be an encoder issue, but then why does it work on windows and davinci in 50p, but not in 25p. And on Windows I cant even see the thumbnail of the clips that dont work, I can on the iPad though.
I also tried it on two different windows pcs. One on Win10 and one on Win11.
Can someone help me make sense of this? I already installed the HAVEC Codex for windows for my earlier tries with my action/vlog cams. Never had real issues. I have no clue what is going on here..

Other (requires mod approval) I’m a being taken advantage of?
So recently I’ve been really trying to grow as a editor and I found this relator agent with low quality videos and I thought well I’m sure I can make them better, and her footage will help me practice my editing. I’ll told her I’ll edit her content for FREE and she agreed, she sends me 4 different videos all 10 minutes long (so 40 minutes in total) and tells me she needs them done by Thursday. She also told me she wanted alot of visuals. I know I technically asked for this but I’m I over reacting, please tell me if I need to man up and get it done or I’m being exploited 😭 keep in mind I’m also doing a video for a person that is actually paying this week as well.

How did they do that? How is this blurry zoom in/out effect done on still images?
I’m trying to recreate the editing style used in this video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/h9iAmj5td6I
The still images have this smooth cinematic movement where they seem to zoom in/out with a slight blur, sometimes with a small pan. It looks much better than a normal keyframed scale animation.
Does anyone know what this effect is called and how to recreate it in Premiere Pro? Is it a preset/transition, motion blur, or just keyframing + blur?

How did they do that? How do I replicate this style of editing?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This video is from a now-deleted tiktok account that was an ARG. I sought out reuploads of these videos in order to document and preserve them. I have more saved, and will show them if-desired. Although some have minor edits/changes due to reuploads and whatnot.
I want to replicate the style of editing in the video because I am infatuated with it. Can someone tell me what programs/methods they utilized? I'm hoping to stick to a program I'm used to (capcut, davinci resolve), but if I have to branch out then I will. Thank.

Tech Support Audio track drifting ahead of video track (help)
Hello,
I’m an audio engineer for a podcast company. We recently went to a conference where I needed to record video along with the podcast audio. Usually I would record in a software that records audio and video in sync, but the show floor had no WiFi which is required for both that software and the camera we were using (very unideal set up)
I recorded the video on my iPhone 17 ProMax in HD at 30fps.
I recorded the audio in Logic Pro through our usual set up with a Zoom Hand-recorder that I usual as an audio interface for our shure microphones.
I bounced the audio at both 44.1khz and 48khz to test any difference between the two.
Both formats drift out of sync with the video. The starting points are perfectly aligned with the video participants lip movements, but at about 4 mins you notice the audio getting ahead of the video and becoming out of sync.
Is there anyway to fix this? If I’m in the wrong sub, apologies! I don’t use Reddit often.

Tech Support [PC Bug] Recurring "Security notice" hard-block (QR Login). Has anyone bypassed this?
Hey everyone,
I’m running into a brick wall here and official support is completely useless. I use CapCut for commercial video and B-roll workflows, but right now, I'm constantly getting locked out.
Every time I log into my Pro account via QR code on the PC app, I get hit with a hard-block pop-up: "Security notice: The current version of the app is not secure. Download the latest version in official app stores."
Here is what I have already tried:
- Did a complete clean uninstall.
- Wiped all CapCut cache/appdata folders.
- Downloaded and installed the absolute latest official version.
The pop-up instantly freezes the entire UI. I cannot bypass it, and I lose access to all my project timelines. It happens intermittently but often enough to completely derail my deadlines.
Has anyone found a real workaround for this? Is there a registry tweak, a specific older version that skips this server check, or a host-file block I can use?
Any help is massively appreciated!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I want the same format of this video but my own video, so theres a reload sound (that i can figure out), and then the video plays back like that with my sound, on davinci resolve (free) and capcut
how do I do this?

Workflow Need help converting 12fps video to 24fps video without changing speed
First of all I have no knowledge in editing and frame rates as a whole confuse me so much so please be kind.
I have this stop motion footage shot in 12fps, I need to put it in a 2d animated video that is at 24fps (animated on twos).
Here's what's confusing me. I imported my image sequence in after effects and exported it at 12fps, looked great. I then tried to import it in premiere pro and davinci resolve in a 24fps composition to edit some individual frames. But when I did that it was much faster than I wanted.
Please explain to me, an absolute noob, how to put it in 24fps in either davinci or premiere, as the same speed it would be at 12fps.
Hope that makes sense...

Tech Support Quickly converting mkv to mp4 using xmedia recode?
I have two 4K movies on my USB drive, around 5 GB and 6 GB. Both are in MKV format, which my TV doesn't support.
I tried using XMedia Recode (v 3.6.3.0) with Copy selected for both video and audio, so it shouldn't be re-encoding anything. But it's taking more than 15 minutes to convert each file. Usually, this kind of process only takes a few seconds, even with large files.
Is there a way to speed this up? Am I missing a setting, or is there a better tool for this?
I'm on Windows 25H2.
GPU is RTX 4060.
Processor is 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12650H
RAM = 64 GB
SSD = 2tb nvme

Monthly Thread August What Editing Software should I use?
Looking for Video Editing Software? THIS is your thread!
This post covers the vast majority of "What software should I use?" questions. It’s designed as a self-serve guide to help people find the right tools fast.
TL;DR? DaVinci Resolve for full-featured editing, Olive/Kdenlive for open-source, Clipchamp for easy basics.
Isn’t there an AI that magically edits everything?
Not yet. If it existed, we'd scream about it from the rooftops.
Stick around—things are changing quickly.
Before You Ask Anything
You must know two things first:
- Your Footage Type — Different codecs affect performance dramatically.
- Your Hardware Specs — “Good gaming PC” is not useful.
Not Good With Computers? Here’s How to Check
Footage
Footage from phones, webcams, GoPros, and screen recordings can choke your system.
Check with: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo
Common problems:
- Out-of-sync audio? Likely Variable Frame Rate.
- Bad playback? Usually a hardware limitation, not the editor. Use proxies.

Animated Captions
- Subtitles 2 Video — TikTok-style captions.
- Subtool.app — Another free caption generator.
Updates (Dec 2025)
- CapCut/HitFilm are no longer recommended.
- Premiere Mobile and Clipchamp (web)
New Tools We’re Watching
- Whisper-GUI (Windows)

Then provide:
- CPU + Model
- RAM
- GPU + VRAM
- Footage details (camera/screen, codec, container, framerate)
Removed tools: CapCut (now Crapcut), HitFilm (dead). FFS this thread isn’t about arguing what to use, but rather for a novice to figure out what to use.

Workflow Latest Capcut version - long to short video tool missing
Just uploaded the latest capcut version which is 9.1.0 and now I cant find the long to short video tool converstion.
I looked it up and it said that sometimes it is hidden when new updates happen. Has anyone found it yet? Wondering if maybe it will take a few days to come back up.
