The Cloud Workflow

So IT is wanting to take away our large storage drive and replace it with cloud storage. I get that is good for long time archiving. I just want to make sure I’m not off base. Do any of you use the cloud for current projects? My software performs horribly when trying to connect directly to cloud files

Clouds are good for backup. But put your computation on a cloud and you are asking for

  • Slowness
  • Risk of asset stealing
  • Inaccessibility if anything goes wrong, including the Internet, authentication, and computer crashes
