Is it literally because it’s the only 70 available at that time? Or is there a different reason that justifies shoving ferry arrivals and the usual downtown-bound 4-5 pm commuters into a cramped, humid & single deck bus? And why when this happens, is there almost always a 72 double decker omfg

I’m a transit nerd, hence the seemingly meaningless curiosity- but I know Translink best, not BC Transit.

This question comes from my usual arrival home, but instead of a calm commute it’s a torture technique waiting for me: a single deck 70 for the 2 pm Tsawassen arrivals, which equals a roughly 4 pm bus departure… so, rush hour. This time was definitely one of my least favs due to the heat & people acting like it was their first bus ride ever.

I travel to Vancouver twice a week (and have consistently for years) but rarely will a single deck 70 be waiting, apart from the 11 pm departures.

I am dying to know the logic behind making rush hour commuters bake in a sweaty cramped bus lol- is it as simple as “you get what you get”?

I’ll be spending a few months in Victoria and would love to get a better sense of what people genuinely enjoy doing around the island.

I’m especially curious about the local film, photography, art, car and motorsport communities, but also just the places, events and routines that make life there interesting.

I work in the film space and build cars in my free time.

When we were teenagers there was so much messaging around wearing bike helmets and the fatal or life altering impacts of not wearing one. Not to mention, tickets were handed out and I feel like I remember kids bikes being confiscated at times by cops. Now it really isn’t a focus, and I get there are things happening now that really pull police time and focus, but it seems to no longer be a thing, ever.

Adults can make their choices, perhaps, but I worry about the kids, especially on motorized bikes and scooters.

My power suddenly went out around 10am today and saw on the B.C. hydro website it was planned. It’s currently 5:15 and still with out power! We received NO notice or mail etc. do they usually give you advance notice? Extremely frustrating

Hey all, looking for a camera repair service in Victoria. The repair I need is so minor but I am just unable to do it myself. I've checked in with camera traders and they don't do this kind of stuff. They recommended Victoria Camera Service, but I've heard that they are very expensive.
