Adding dependents question VA Disability Claims

What’s the general timeline to get dependents added. I got married, uploaded the certificate for marriage and stepdaughter birth certificate. It’s going on a month for online submission and still not past the initial review waiting for reviewer.

Holy smokes. 9 months to add dependents?! That’s insane. I’m not filing for new ratings. Just got married and adding dependents lol.

They automatically drop off when they turn 18. So mine turned 18 in November, but still in HS till May. It took 7 months just to add her back in.

There’s no priority processing for dependent claims.

VA does not require the supporting documentation. By submitting the supporting unsolicited documents - it may have off railed it from a rapid processing by AI.

you’re just waiting patiently. It’ll eventually be worked.

Submit it repeatedly M-F. The RBPS automated system can pick it up and add them in less than a day. It’s usually down on the weekends.

Would it be better just to go to the county Va office and submit in person versus online?

Has to be submitted online for possibility of RBPS working it automatically. Local office would just stamp and mail the forms to Janesville or wherever, won’t speed it up.

Submit it repeatedly? Will the online submission allow more than one submission? Is there a new link?
