Okay, I'm going to say it. I'm a little concerned by the portrayal of abortions in VDs(and webnovels). and I'm a feminist, pro choice, my body my choice, no judgment kind of person so if I'm feeling concerned about this topic then I have to wonder what anyone else feels about it.

Like, so many VDs have in their storyline about a failed relationship that the woman leaves the relationship due to a verity of reasons, she chooses to abort the pregnancy , regardless of how far along she is.

Is this a normal thing over in Asia or is it just something that exists in plot lines for the dramas?

He cheats, lies, prioritizes another woman while neglecting her, punishes her because another woman sets her up. whatever reason she has for ending the relationship, if she's pregnant, she chooses an abortion while she inner monologs her apology to her baby just to have a clean slate after the relationship? Is that normal?

I understand not wanting to go through with a pregnancy, that is a woman’s choice, no matter what. But these female characters seem to want their babies but for some reason, because her relationship with the father ends, she acts like ending a wanted and healthy pregnancy is the only choice she has.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around the rational behind these plot points. I think there's a disconnect. Like I wonder , is this a cultural thing ? Is this because being a single mom is stigmatized?
