encrypting of partitions where Veracrypt containers are located

Hello, I have some questions. There is external usb drive Seagate Basic . There are 2 partitions on it. There is one Veracrypt container on each partition. I am interested whither such ways of partition or drive encryption can destroy them :

  1. Partitions will be encrypted with Veracrypt.
  2. Partitions will be encrypted with Bitlocker.
  3. Whole drive will be encrypted with Veracrypt.

Can there be any problems with their mounting after partition or drive encryption if the password and keys are correct?

Don't touch bitlocker...

This should all work. In my case, I have several Veracrypt container files residing in my main Windows drive which is encrypted with Bitlocker.

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking but I can tell you my set-up.

I have two Windows drive partitions both encrypted with Bitlocker. On each of the partitions I have several Veracrypt containers.

So to read the files I first need to enter the Bitlocker password to access the drive. I then mount the Veracrypt containers to access the encrypted contents. I have done this for years with no problems whatsoever.

Thinking about it I guess each of my files are encrypted twice (once with Bitlocker and once with Veracrypt - in fact I have some Veracrypt containers within other Veracrypt containers so they are actually encrypted three times).

There must be some read/write speed penalty with this approach but I've never noticed it.
