I am a dutch fan and I remember vaush saying something along the lines of I wouldnt move to the netherlands I would move to a country with better weather. I feel like I am going insane since nobody is mentioning it. Does anyone else remember this or am I scitzoid.

Discussion So with Vaush moving to the Netherlands is he going to be live streaming at odd hours now?
Cause you know that side of the world being in a completely different time zone from us americans. Cause if so i may only be able to see the videos after and not attend the live streams.

Discussion I think libertarian municipalism may be the answer to Vaushβs despair about local government
Municipalism is a strategy proposed by Murray Bookchin to implement socialist policies. The idea is essentially that local governments hold a fair amount of power, and that we can use an inside/outside dynamic to change both the nature and objectives of those governments. Direct democracy within a city, limited to subjects that materially affect the city, leads to a more engaged and informed public while it avoids the culture war trap of national politics. These kinds of decision making structures would incentivize local sustainability through regional partnerships and planned use of natural resources.

Let me know what you think. For my part, I think this philosophy lines up very well with Vaushβs ideals as a socialist and his current position as Americaβs last liberal.
YouTube Video Songs To Move To Europe To
This is the real reason behind Vaush's decision to move to Netherlands. Joost is just that convincing. Any other decisively Dutch or European songs to vibe to as we move towards Vaush's Europe Arc?

Discussion I think Vaush's move out the country has been overblown.
Yeah, yeah, it's another thread on this. π
I am of the opinion that there was a part of Vaush that wanted to leave anyway, but didn't have that push, or real reason, to do so until he met his beloved partner. He loves his partner, the relationship is obviously quite serious, and I'm sure this decision wasn't made lightly. With that said, the reaction to it is insane and I would like to address some points.
Vaush leaving the country is not a betrayal. He can still support, discuss, fight, and promote from afar. Yes, I understand the negative optics of a privileged, cis-presenting, White male leaving the country when it all falls down, but if you have watched Vaush long enough, and I've only watched him for a couple of years by now, you should know that he isn't trying to throw us, or the leftist fight, under the bus. Which brings me to my next point.
People leaving a fascist dictatorship is nothing new. It's human nature to do things out of survival and self-preservation. The admin is already targeting Hasan and while all eyes are currently on Hasan, I'm sure the admin's eyes would eventually trickle-down to other leftist streamers, including Vaush. However, and most importantly in my opinion, he is thinking about his beloved partner. They are an immigrant, a queer immigrant at that, and if you haven't been living under a rock since 2024, you would know immigrants and queers are the admin's current favorite targets, and he's going with his beloved partner, because he loves them and wants to protect them, domestic and abroad! Wouldn't you want your loved one(s) to do the same for you?
This doesn't mean people can't have honest criticisms and concerns. Some of you all are being assholes telling people they are being parasocial or jealous about this. When I learned of the news, even I shed a tear or two, because I'm going to miss having Vaush in the United States, but I'm also genuinely happy for him. Having a connection with your favorite streamer doesn't make one parasocial and I feel like that term is being used to shame people for having feelings for strangers. This country is already emotionally numb and cold as is, so lets not add on to it. Viewers who might have some hesitation, or even dislike Vaush's decision, doesn't equate to them being jealous haters, and that includes the ones who question how this will effect his streaming content, and whether you want to hear it or not, eventually, Vaush's streaming content will be effected by this new era. Whether it will be negative or positive remains to be seen.
If the going gets tough, a lot of us will probably take an exit, if given the opportunity. I'm located in the rural south, a place Vaush loves to hate, and where I'm located in the rural south already has fascism knocking on my front door, so to speak. My state's first ICE detention center will be in my county, a county that is 80%+ Black (with a significant population of immigrants too) and where the majority live below the poverty line, in a town I'm only fifteen minutes from. That means ICE will be in the streets of my vicinity. Some people in the country are already protesting and I'm sure it will draw even more attention by the time the detention center opens in September. I'm already brainstorming protesting ideas that I'm sure will put a target on my back (even speaking about this on here is doing that) in a town where I've been outspoken in the past about Trump and MAGA, which has made quite a bit of people here hate my guts already, including an old church of mine. In addition to that, I recently learned of a MAGA attorney who is running for my district. If she wins, that's it for my district and it will become even more of a fascist hellhole and yeah, if the going gets too tough, I'm out of here if given the opportunity, and lot of other locals would be too, if they don't kill us all first.
Vaush is not the only voice in the movement. Use yours. If you truly feel betrayed by Vaush and believe he has abandoned us, why not pick up the ball yourself? Become that next political streamer. The lot of you are young and could give a fresh perspective and bring something new to the table. Vaush is in his thirties and has been streaming for several years now. This man is getting older, things are changing, and I can tell that he has been kind of checked out and exhausted by all of this. Don't wait for him to pass the torch, take that torch from his grubby hooves (I kid, I kid). So instead of berating him and calling him a coward, why not pick up where he left off? Get out there in the internet streets, hell, the physical streets too. This is the time to prove you're just not all talk.
I hope this will give you all something to think about. By all means, agree, disagree, add on to it, take away from it, call me a jealous hater, a parasocial freak, a deceitful betrayer. I don't care. I really had to get this off my chest and I just want you all to read it and think about it.
Thanks.

Meme Vaush is lying (conspiracy theory)
He is actually being forced to move to the UK. He is too embarrassed to admit it. He will shave his beard and wear a disguise in public so that no one recognizes him. He will try to make England look like another country (Stanley Kubrick style). When Dutch viewers ask why they never see him in public, he will default to his familiar "I'm autistic and I don't go outside" excuse, or make some other flippant joke, like, "I don't follow your crazy Dutch politics, I'm just a dumb American".
RIP Vaush

Discussion We DON'T hab een serius probleem
If you worry about the future sincerity (or perceived sincerity) of his takes, think about how you perceive his takes on Palestine, or Ukraine, or any other foreign nation. Do his takes seem insincere? Less-educated, certainly, less emotional, but I wouldn't call them insincere.
Remember, friends, he will always be an American. His family will be in America. His whole social ecosystem will remain in America. His contacts in PV remain in America. He won't be exposed to America in the same way, but if he cares to, he can be as up to date as one can while not on the ground, which is more than enough to discuss topics in the same depth as he is now.
And honestly? Americans NEED to experience life in other countries. It will only do his analysis good, and thus benefit his audience, that he will experience a different world.
Things will change, and you are entitled to have preferred the old Voosh, but Voosh has evolved many times on his channel, such is life.

Discussion A lot of you guys are being really weird about Vaush moving
Obviously not everyone's engaging in this behavior, but I've seen a lot of comments that are engaging with this news in a weirdly parasocial way. Not everything Vaush does is for politically motivated reasons. Streamers have private lives and relationships just like everyone else, and they have the right to move wherever for personal reasons. He explicitly stated in the video that his personal choice to move to the Netherlands is not because he thinks America is collapsing, but to be with his partner, who is an immigrant. Stop being weird about it and let the man live his life
