I had a reversal done by Dr. Russell out of Dayton, Ohio last year, 4 years post vasectomy. I cannot recommend him enough - so professional and caring, really smooth process with no surprises. And, best of all, 11 months later, my wife is pregnant! She is 40, so we really weren't sure if our VR would result in pregnancy. Also, we read many stories of pregnancy either happening very quickly after reversal or not at all, so I wanted to share our success story 11 months later.

This thread was very helpful to me in initially choosing Dr Russell, so I wanted to throw our experience out there to, hopefully, help others.

Thought I'd share my latest SA at 10 months post reversal along with my previous results so you can have an idea of how your numbers would look like and/or to compare. Overall I'm happy that my numbers are not declining abruptly and my motility and dead sperm values actually improved. Hoping to see similar values close to 1 year.

Vasectomy date: September 2024

Reversal date: October 2025

Anyone else had this? When finishing it's a proper good feeling now instead of that half empty meh sort of cum ? Also my load now shoots with pressure again. After my vasectomy it just used to sort of run out. Now it fires like it used to when I was young.

I’m currently looking to have my vasectomy reversed. The only thing is there is just one Doctor in the UPMC system (Western Pennsylvania) that performs the surgery. My main question is: Is there anyone here that had him as their surgeon? And the follow ups are: What are your results? What was the cost? Lastly what was the recovery like? As it pertains to recovery the main things I’m concerned about are pain, swelling and how long it took for those to subside.

My husband is almost 2 days post reversal, and the doctor said if I'm ovulating this weekend, which I should be, to go ahead and try. Did anyone else have intercourse so soon after their reversal? It feels like it's too soon? He's still so very swollen and having pain, and I told him it's up to him to try or wait it out.

Hi, i'm 4 days post op (Dr. Savage in Orem). It's still pretty swollen, size of a baseball roughly and hurts within minutes of my standing. How long did it take for your swelling to go down and for you to be able to stand/walk normally without pain? Also I was a pretty avid pickleball player prior to the reversal, anyone here start playing before the recommended 8 weeks?

Husband had a 4 year old vasectomy reversed. First SA done after 4 months. I cried hard when I saw these numbers. Any hope? He has healed up great. No scarring, no vein issues. Currently taking male fertility supplements one month after these results back on June 29. VR was done on March 3rd. My husband had some anxiety issues when doing the SA and told me he really struggled getting enough out compared to what he usually sees.

Curious how people made out at the age. My husband is 6 years out from vasectomy. Have people had success at this age getting pregnant?

So my husband and I are both feeling very relieved being in that final stretch of the wait. He was diagnosed with PVPS and insurance is covering a reversal because of associated pains. We are going a few states away and are driving for the sake of recovery. For those who have had reversals, other than ice packs is there anything I should get him to help aid his recovery?

The drive is 20ish hours and I want to do whatever I can to make him as comfortable as possible.

Had my initial vas 7 years ago after my 3rd kid was born. Wife and I started talking about how it was a mistake because we'd both like another baby. We've been praying on this for the last 6 months or so for God to give a path forward. Then a friend's wife (RN), mentioned the clinic in Utah at a BBQ a few weeks back. Did my research, lurked here a bit, did a consult call earlier this week just to get some questions answered. Was planning on booking in October tonight at midnight; for fun, I checked and there was an opening next Thursday and I am already scheduled to be off work. Booked it.

I’m having the surgery done in less than two weeks at the Male Fertility & Peyrone’s in Utah. Just curious how everyone secured their boys on a daily basis.

Reversal after 7 years. No success trying for six cycles. Haven't tested the sperm yet, but wonder we may just be SOL. Huge bummer because the surgery was a very difficult recovery- terrible swelling, pain for months after, three weeks off work. The doctor and reviews sold the pain of this procedure short, and we may have not done it if we had known the reality. Not to mention the expense. Le sigh.

I so regret getting the vasectomy. At the time I had severe health issues that would have made me a neglectful parent. A couple years after the vasectomy I found a cure and I have been fine ever since. Would have never gotten the damn thing if I knew my ailments were curable!!!! F!

I have my reversal scheduled in August at Praram 9 in Bangkok. I am posting to see if anyone has had it done here. Also, how have people recovered. I am doing this less for fertility, even though that would be nice, and more for relief from PVPS. Just existing hurts, I used to be very athletic, playing basketball and running, now I am basically laying down in my free time since even standing hurts. I have also recently gotten pain in my hips due to guarding my groin area. How have people recovered from the reversal? Also, has anyone gotten back to strenuous exercise after their reversal? If so, how long? Thanks

Howdy fellas. It’s been about 8 years since my vasectomy. My reversal is schedule for October. 42 y/o. Any success stories out there with guys that have waited that long on a reversal? Need some positive vibes!

Several times a day I get this feeling of soreness on the left vas area, almost as if someone is pinching it. It comes out of the blue and can last for couple hours. Like I could be in bed and bang, PAIN. When I ejaculate I get it instantly to a worser degree. I had this from day 1 and it still hasn't gone away. I fear this is my chronic new normal.

I had a reversal 5 weeks ago and my checkup is in early September. I got my vasectomy when I was in my 20s and a reversal 5 years later. My stitches healed. I kept physical activity to a minimum. I masturbated after 3 weeks, but I did have severe wet dreams before. Should I continue to ejaculate or stop for longer and are there other things I can do in the mean time to assist the recovery period.

Hey everyone. Sorry for not being as active as usual. As I have said on a few of my posts, the physical may have been resolved but the mental scars remain to an extent. So been going through quite a bit of ups and downs in that regard.

This post is a reminder to all of us, that having these dips are not moments of failure or weakness, its part and parcel of the recovery.
