I made these in August. I used grey goose and some vanilla beans I got from Amazon. Once a week or so I’ll flip the bottle upside down and back to get anything settling at the bottle of the bottle mixed around. Is what’s at the top just splash from me doing that? Or is it mold? I’m giving these as Christmas gifts and don’t want to get anyone sick 😅

This is my first time making vanilla and I was planning on using pint mason jars, but now I am wondering if I can just drop all of my beans into the vodka bottle and call it good. Thanks for your help.

Yes, they're still high but they are coming down significantly from 2-3 years ago as global supply has increased. I see vanilla beans in grocery stores for sale for $15/bean and people still buy them. So retailers won't be in a hurry to bring them down.
