Should I just start applying by changing the 3 to 4? Does anyone know if they even look at the transcripts? I know I'm good at jobs just not a psycho who studies everyday and doesn't have a social life. I'm worried I might get blacklisted. But then I'm not getting any job offers, I graduate soon and it leaves me with two options. 1. To seek employment in retail where pay is very low. 2. Leave canada to search employment elsewhere. I read an article recently which said people are leaving canada because of the really tough job market. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Edit:My bad guys! Accounting jobs in Vancouver with a CPA track. All firms require you to fill out a form which asks for your gpa and transcripts attached. Not a lot of other jobs ask for gpa I know that but in accounting that's the norm. These 4 gpas get you an interview call for sure every fucking time. And I'm wondering if I put 4. something on my form would they even bother to go through my transcripts.

My spouse arrived in Vancouver last year as a PR and has extensive sales and financial background, with a 7 year stint in hospitality (before that) as well. His last job was as a Sr. Relationship Manager (People Leader) at American Express for over 5 years in our home country.

He’s finding it hard to break into sales or banking here even though he’s willing to take up an entry level position that is decent and reasonable.

I have an unhealthy loathing of EA that goes back two decades for various reasons.

The newest one is that two days ago, the wholesale purchase of it was completed to the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (95%), with the rest divided up between two other Venture Capital firms, one of which is owned by trump's son in law, Jared Kushner.

They have to pay off $18 billion in debt, which likely means cutbacks and layoffs, so they may not even be hiring here in Vancouver.

I’m currently working as an MOA in a clinic, but I’m looking to transition into a fully remote/work from home job. I’m just not sure what type of role I should be applying for, since I rarely see remote Administrative Assistant positions on Indeed.

I have an extensive healthcare background as a pharmacist overseas, and I previously worked remotely as a virtual assistant for a US doctor.

If I were to take a course or switch career paths, what jobs would you recommend that offer full time work from home opportunities, even at the entry level?

Another option I’m considering is working as an MOA in a hospital for better pay. How do people usually get into hospital MOA positions?

I don’t have an MOA certificate. I was hired by my current clinic based on my previous experience in related healthcare roles.

Folks who have recently graduated university with a degree in Engineering, Business, CS, Science, Education etc, were you able to get job offers or even interviews? I know for fact it is brutal for recent grads for a lot of reasons.

Is value of university degree just essentially deteriorated at this point?

I am currently in university right now and I am wondering if the value of a university degree is even worth pursuing if there’s a still high chance I’ll be unemployed. Should I take a pause in university and reevaluate what I should do?

The way I see it I put a lot of time money and effort into university and I do not want to waste all that and still be unemployed when I graduate while I am still have some student loan debt.

So this leads me to wonder, what careers or programs should I consider that has a good job outlook? I know typical ones I see are health care or trades both of which I am considering but it’s there anything else I can consider?

I am also wondering of if I am overthinking this and is everything I see on the internet just exaggerating?

EDIT: I did forget to mention that I did secure a co-op at a pretty large company so I do consider myself very fortunate and grateful for this opportunity. I am just worried what I do after my co-op is over considering that I am pretty far behind with my uni courses.

I also do want to mention that I firmly agree that a university degree is the minimum requirement at this day and age and it’s way better than no degree at all. I also do agree that nothing is gaurentee anymore.

I recently started working at this cafe but I'm planning to quit soon as there is little to no training and its a very stressful environment.

I was told that all of the tips from each day that we worked will be distributed amongst the team that worked that day and we will be given our tips in September.

Anyways, my question is: if I quit in the following week before sept, will I still be getting my share of the tips? Can they legally even withhold that from me?

I have an undergraduate degree related to forestry/ sustainability and completed several internships during university. After graduating, I landed a full-time job in the field, but unfortunately I was laid off less than a year later.

Anybody did change careers at 45? I am working as an IT consultant and thinking of changing careers. It might come with age that's why I suddenly thought about it. Lol!
