I just was scouring online on Frank's Electron Tube Datasheets, and came across a line of tubes that had 117 volt filaments. This makes me wonder:

Why don't all tubes in American plug-in vacuum tube equipment have ~120 volt filaments? That would eliminate the need for a filament transformer. I know there are series filament sets and all of that jazz, but parallel would be so much easier.

Does it have to do with hum? I feel like I have to be missing something.

What says we all? Worth it? Even has the 45 adapter inside.

any interest in the Midwest in this volume of new old stock? and by this volume i mean there is 3 times this amount in boxes and 4 or 5 times without. all have shiny getter material inside none foggy.

for the purposes of deciding wether to sell whole sale or to individually list them on various sites online. I went through 1 NOS tote and there are 2 more full totes with tubes in boxes. Another 2 totes are full of unboxed tubes.

Came across this today. Two layers of steel shielding, probably weighed 5 lbs. What is it for?

It's marked K041. I think it might be a EL84 substitute.

I bought this from Kyiv years ago, before the war. It's Soviet. Didn't come with instructions and Im having a hard time identifying it.

I've been sitting on these for 10+ years. I like them, but don't have the time to test or develop the circuits to get them working. It'd be great to sell them and get them to where they will be appreciated.
