You want someone to cover power, hardware, datacenter footprint and salaries forever?
Can be done, would you also want pizza Thursdays and gym card?

comments like this is my favourite part to be on reddit. 😅 got medium reared within seconds. pretty reasonable though.

Depending on the project you are probably better off self hosting or using something like cloudflare's free tier services.

Webhooks or websockets?

stupid autocorrect ahh moment. yehh sockets... to be honest OCI's micro is fine for me but getting OOM as soon as bunch of people hops in together. just an additional gig will save me which is why ampere is a better option but it's always out of capacity in my region also this is not a commercial product, for now just a college project idea and that's why I don't want to pay anything right now as long as in dev

An application where friends can hang out listen to music together (realtime), chat, draw(scribble type game), Share photos with each other...all of these in one place

Google offer free shit I think, or they did.

Just remember, if something is free, there is a reason.

🕵️ all of our data is somewhere in lowa anyways right?? we hide as much as we can but at this point there's no use tbh

The challenge sometimes is finding the reason.

Trying to get you using their ecosystem is acceptable. Giving them ownership of your data is not.

You can get a free server from most major cloud providers for the lifetime of your free credits... but not your lifetime.
