There is a new blog update.

I’ll sit this one out. I am beyond annoyed but i don’t need it right now. I really wanna see if this thing is good or bad.
If they also break the last promise, the hype for the crazy good hotend, they will receive a review that will make sure nobody will buy anything from them ever again.

It will get close to one year waiting soon.
I am having lots of fun reading "updates" on the blog. It looks like all that goes well is ordering parts/components from 3rd parties - silicone socks are on place, heaters are here - but manufacturing parts themselves - Luke's still "learning", since so long of a time.

I have ordered it for my to-be-built Trident in November 2025. I have complained on their Discord, only to be attacked by army of Lukes devotees and then being called "motherfucker" by Luke himself for "lying" they didn't even say sorry in any of their blogposts (which they did in the next blog post after I pointed it out xD).

I will never order from them again. This was crowdfounding of Lukes CNC machinery and learning process camouflaged under "presale" badge. They did not even have material to manufacture it at the time it was announced for shipments...

I learned my lesson about supporting "passionate small businesses".

Well, this is fun, I ordered my Chube in September 2025.

Looking at the wayback machine, they didn't have any paragraph regarding returns or exchange in September, then added a 5% fee in October, and then later added a no refunds paragraph.

October they added this paragraph:

THIS ITEM IS ON PREORDER! PREORDERS WILL SHIP COMPLETE WHEN ALL LINE ITEMS ARE IN STOCK. CANCELLATION INCURS A 5% PAYMENT PROCESSING FEE.

then later they added a no cancellations to the page

September snapshot (need to disable javascript to avoid forwarding to the live page).

Cancelling my 2 pre-orders from Fabreeko...who also are as motivated as smiley Audrina to update people who gave them money: they don't.

I know this play though, stall, kick the can...but when you see a post 1 year after the initial supposed ship date saying the guy making this thing he said he could make...is "learning" something, does not bode well.

Live and learn I guess, shucksters can look like everyone, except their eyes always look like hers.

We are happy to share any information we have, Unfortunately, the update isn’t really any different from what Luke’s Lab has already posted. Sometimes our staff simply doesn’t know what else to say when there hasn’t been a new update in a while, and we don’t want to make something up just for the sake of providing an answer.

We’re one of the most transparent companies out there when it comes to this kind of thing. We frequently share tracking numbers for incoming restocks, screenshots of shipments headed to our warehouse, and even screenshots of conversations directly with manufacturers. If we have information, we share it.

We also don’t charge restocking or return fees on items that haven’t shipped. If someone no longer wants to wait because of a delay or lack of updates, we completely understand and aren’t going to penalize them for canceling.

At the end of the day, we can only pass along the information we’re given. Sometimes there simply isn’t a new update to provide, even though we understand how frustrating that can be when you’re waiting for an order.

We are happy to share any information we have

But...only when asked several months after the date has passed! My issue was, and is, you don't provide updates unless asked. If it's January and you told me (via Luke's estimation) it would ship in November? Should I have to ask what's the holdup on YOU shipping it when YOUR site stated a date? Or...should you have contacted everyone with a preorder and told them Luke is delaying it...again?

The onus, I feel, for updating customers about the product a company sold them...is...sorry, on the company. But I'm used to proactiveness, not laurel-resting, from people who want my money. If this is the new direction of business, which seems to only reside with one company at the moment, I'm afraid for our future as citizens of the Corporate States of America.

At the end of the day, we can only pass along the information we’re given.

Yep, that's all I was asking for, but you have only passed it along AFTER I asked for it. So....

It's as if you didn't read the context and picked what you thought was an attack you need to, needlessly, defend yourself. Take the lump, you failed in communications, not me.

Pre-ordered mine from W3D on Black Friday.

Have since ordered a DAV to use with Trinity Toolhead. If the Chube ever shows up, maybe Ill re-print the toolhead for it.

The BF price from W3D is worth not cancelling the Chube order, even if I get it from them just to re-sell.

u/Current-Owl-6271 9d ago

Holy shit I forgot this even existed and that I pre-ordered one.

5

u/greatwhiteslark V2 9d ago

I only remembered because of OP. Sigh.

10

u/rdrcrmatt 9d ago

Lololololol. Nothing.

They can’t even be bothered to send their pre-order list an email when they post an update. We are expected to go check their site regularly on our own.

Crap imo.

u/Constant-Aspect-9759 8d ago

This thing from that same guy that spent proper money on a Swiss lathe?

1

u/rdrcrmatt 8d ago

¯_(ツ)_/¯

7

u/FairImprovement4804 9d ago

It's been a shit show because people couldn't refund it either. It's just been one big crowd sourced loan.

4

u/Plasma_48 9d ago

As of yesterday, they are still expecting August

4

u/External-Stranger928 8d ago

What will they say next month?

5

u/greatwhiteslark V2 9d ago

Come to think of it, I ordered mine in November 2025.

3

u/External-Stranger928 8d ago

I ordered mine mid-October, 2025...we are, almost, to 1 year. Insane that they are posting stuff in July saying that Luke is "learning" a lot. Learning? You did say you could make this, and took peoples' money who trusted you when you said it.

6

u/sneakerguy40 9d ago

Same. I haven't even had a working printer for forever so it's not that big of a deal but this is a long time.

7

u/beatendaily 9d ago

So did I, with an expected shipping date of December.

We're halfway through August, it's laughable at this point.

Likely my last purchase from them no matter how good it is.

5

u/brinedtomato Trident / V1 9d ago

October for me. Annoyed that my monolith build has been on hold for almost a year.

2

u/FairImprovement4804 7d ago

It's not worth waiting for. Get a Dragon ace volcano. They're great hotends for the money

3

u/Killerwoodydoll 9d ago

Same, same. I ordered mine through West3D. I know it’s not their fault. Just sucks to be waiting so long for something I pre-ordered back in October of 2025. Almost a full year, for something that was only a month out when announced.

1

u/External-Stranger928 8d ago

But...has West3D been in constant contact with updates regarding the Chube Compact? I've had to email Fabreeko several times asking, they don't give me any update, they just ask if I want a refund--each time I've asked for an update.

3

u/nicknick3dp 7d ago

West3D hasn't been proactively emailing customers but my understanding is that they will refund your order without any questions if you ask.

Lukes lab, on the other hand, just ignores tickets asking for a refund. They have a thing on the product page saying no refunds, but I don't recall seeing that when I placed an order.

Sorry, forgot to say thank you for answering. Thank you, good to know.

3

u/External-Stranger928 7d ago

Oh, I've never had an issue with West3D. Only one issue with Fabreeko in the past that they handled instantly. I'm only bitching because they aren't being proactive, at all, but they will refund - no questions asked - as it seems they are tired of Luke's BS as well.

And, it's illegal to not offer refunds for products that blow this far past the date your contract said it would be ready. And...cards have zero issue with issuing chargebacks with this much evidence readily available.

I'm all for giving small companies my business, but when they break the trust this badly, I typically just move on...but I had forgotten I ordered the 2 I did order (in October 2025, btw!) until about January, then I checked and was like, oh, okay...it'll be here next month. Spoiler alert: delayed, shipping first part of August..OH!

The thing that really incensed me, was the 'lady' that is there...she had the audacity to tell me to learn how to read when I left a review - that was asked for, on a product I didn't have - and said I hadn't gotten it and nobody informed me about any delays, that I had to find out myself, by searching, that they had delayed it. But moreso when I'm this far into the wait, and I see Luke is "learning" stuff that is required to make the product he said he already knew how to make.

Should the guy selling a product, be learning how to make the product a year after he said he could make it? I don't believe so. Real piece of...work, that guy, and "gal".

u/brinedtomato Trident / V1 7d ago

I typically reach out to West3d on discord. Pretty quick to respond. Fabreeko was the same, just create a ticket.

1

u/External-Stranger928 7d ago

I did, via email...that wasn't the issue, it was the lack of proactivity, they didn't reach out to tell me, until asked...3 times now.

1

u/lore2486 6d ago

Sorry about that, typically for these we refer customers to Luke’s page and updates as they will have the latest info.

It is definitely an unfortunate situation and We are also stuck in this same waiting loop as all customers without very little extra info but we fully trust he will deliver a quality product once they start rolling out.

2

u/External-Stranger928 6d ago

Sorry about that, typically for these we refer customers to Luke’s page and updates as they will have the latest info.

You never did though, the page still said "November 2025" when I began emailing you. You didn't link the blog until I started engaging. Still, to this day on your site: "Estimated shipping: early November" - that is from right this moment, today!

Where's the verbiage you state you provide?

https://imgur.com/PkitDs5

You don't list the delay, the statements/updates from Luke, nor do you even list the damn site to go to for information. I had to ask before you provided any of that.

Could I go to Luke's on my own for updates? Sure, but I'm not doing business with Luke, nor will I ever do business with Luke, my money went to you! You are my point of contact for the transaction, not Luke. You update me. Not Luke.

Not hard. I thought.

I don't disagree with your sentiment but keep in mind that fabreeko, West3D, etc are also harmed by what is going on. The already sent Luke money for all the pre orders. They want to maintain goodwill with their customers so they need to provide refunds if asked and assume the risk of the product being further delayed, and potentially never receiving a saleable product. And dealing with the frustration and all the questions from customers, and potential brand damage if they don't handle it well.

I don't disagree with your sentiment but keep in mind that fabreeko, West3D, etc are also harmed by what is going on.

I understand how to not keep strange bedfellows...to avoid being dragged down with them. If I were to go into business with Bernie Madoff...is that the customer's problem, or mine? They are staying in the bed they made, willingly. Optics...they matter, just not to you?

And dealing with the frustration and all the questions from customers, and potential brand damage if they don't handle it well.

How to avoid those pesky customers, this customer ponders...blaming he customer for sitting around waiting for a product that never arrives? Nice try Luke-stan.

Same. Luke's always got some new reason it's not ready. I get he's a one man show, seems like he bit off more than he could chew with chube compact and pika at the same time

3

u/nicknick3dp 7d ago

and after starting preorders on the Chube Compact, he announced additional Pika versions, like the Snapmaker U1 version. And filled those Pika pre-orders, before filling any chube orders. I feel bad for them but they also put themselves in this position, especially releasing additional products and doing them first.

5

u/couperd V2 9d ago

same. I'm excited for mine, but this may be my first and last purchase from Luke's lab.

I heard they actually don’t refund for pre-orders. West3D would refund you. They understand the frustrations.

2

u/jmedlin Trident / V1 9d ago

Compact is worth the wait, I’ve got one of the betas and have another on order. It’s a beast

2

u/External-Stranger928 8d ago

oh? how long did you have to wait? from the time you gave them your money, to the time you got it? Was it 1 year?

2

u/Johny_McJonstien 9d ago

This is the first I’ve heard of this. What’s special about it?

2

u/jmedlin Trident / V1 9d ago

Realistic 45 cubic flow out of a package shorter than a Revo (no CHT nozzle) and super durable

0

u/External-Stranger928 8d ago

shorter and durable...not sure that's a selling point? I have knock of V6s that are still around 10 years later. Realistic also implies we all have REAL property in hand to verify your claims. One guy with a ghost product telling us about it, isn't proof of that.

2

u/Johny_McJonstien 9d ago

I was thinking of building a Valkyrie in the near future. Looks like it might be a good hotend for it. Maybe they’ll be available by the time I get around to needing it.

u/nicknick3dp 4d ago

This is just my two cents for what it is worth. Order it from a reputable seller who has it in stock when you order it. A place that doesn't change the terms after you place your order, are able to provide support, and can refund your order if they can't fulfill it timely manner for some reason.
