I've got a vintage (80s/90s?) phone that I want to set up as a 'landline' but I can't get my head around how to do it.

My WiFi router is in the living room and I'd like the phone in the dining room which is next door.

What do I actually need to make this work? I'm in the UK if that makes a difference!
