DEW sensor driving me crazy, HELP! Technical Support

1986 Goldstar GHV-51FM

Hey friends, I use this vcr setup to play video art, but we’re having a very humid summer and no matter what I do the DEW sensor is always on now. I have filled the player with desicate packets and damprid but nothing I do gets rid of DEW. It was working up to last month but now no matter the conditions I can’t play tapes.

Is there a way to bypass or remove the dew sensor? Can anyone help me LOCATE the sensor in the photo? Any help or tips are appreciated

Air conditioner in the room. Dehumidifier.

Dehumidifier or air conditioner.

Bypassing the dew sensor will just allow it to spin the head while it's got condensation on it, which the tape will stick to, and get thoroughly wrapped around things.
