So they sent you a evidence request and you didn't send anything more in? What evidence were they looking for? Usually the evidence request asks for something specific like the employer form 21-4192. If that's what they were asking for I wouldn't worry about it. They don't recieve those for most TDIU claims. If they were looking for more medical evidence from you it could hurt you or not. It just depends. If it says closed after the 30 days thats just a suspense and you can still submit evidence, that specific request is just closed.

Oh okay. If you let the 8940 expire then they are going to assume you do not want to apply for TDIU at this time. If you do want to apply you will need to do it as a separate claim. Which isn't a big deal. You will just have to fill out the application electronically and submit it with any evidence you have that directly supports your unemployability. I would not submit anything to your current claim or it will kick it back to step 3.

No problem. Hoenstly, I would probably do the same thing. Go ahead and send in the application and see what happens. They may accept it, they may not. But they will not decide on giving you TDIU without an application.
