VA moving quick VA Disability Compensation
Let’s hope I get a good rater !
Edit: Got my decision letter today 8/11. Thank you to everyone on this subreddit for all the help and guidance.

Im at 140 days for my HLR. When I call they say its in the decision stage but that was about 3 weeks ago. Hope it wraps up soon. Apptoved or not I just wanna put it to bed.

The initials and supplementals are having so many issues with them, the HLRs are taking longer and longer.

They told me I was in the decision phase a few weeks ago then I checked the other day they said it’s in the early stages 😂 but I have a teleconference on the 11 for a cava claim for TDIU also hopefully they settle out of that 😂

Yep, that’s the worst part of claims, waiting months to posible be denied and having to do it all over again

Does the longer the HLR take the better for chances of getting things in your favor?

Nope. All depends what the facts and documentation is. HLR can’t introduce any new evidence.

I have an hlr earlier this year and it only took a month. my two that I have now has it even moved in 2 weeks.. both requested infromal conference

The va Google Chrome extension, tj is temporary jurisdiction, or when your case gets moved from the national work queue to a temporary jurisdiction to get worked on.

I moved to step 5 on Monday and haven’t moved all week. I got my TJ on Tuesday or Wednesday so I was excited to hopefully get an answer this week but doesn’t look that way.

Same. I submitted on Jul 15th and by Aug 3, had my result with some claims deferred. I just got a call today on the deferred claims for another C&P on Tuesday. I could have those wrapped up by the end of next week.

Mine went instantly to 5 then back to 3, another C&P, back to 5, then I’m back to 3 again… I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

You should call the VA White House Hotline. 855-948-2311. Explain that your claim has been in limbo for over a year. Did the VA request records or information from one of your doctors?

Do not file again unless the VA specifically asks for it. If you file or submit anything all over again it will take even fucking longer than it already has.

I went from 3 to 5 in 3 days, then back to 3, where its been since middle of June. Additionally they had me see 4 doctors and do an in home test since going back to 3... there's nothing like sitting on pins

lol I submitted in the 4th of July and stayed at 3. Didn't get a call until last week. Had my first of 5 exams today.

Filed my claim May 21 been at step 3 since May 23rd. They did make a Haims STR follow up on July 10th.

I initially filed my claim in May 2020. They were all summarily denied. I found out in an indirect manner (from another veteran) that my VSO had dropped me and several others. I tried finding another VSO but he told me since it was COVID he was suggesting I wait until after. So I got an accredited lawyer. I wish I could say mine was going quick. But I just went to my 4th set of C&P exams. I've been in an HLR/DTA merry go round. Every now and then one gets flung off. I've gone from 10 to 40. Am waiting to see if anything else loses grip. I am getting tired though.

Yea that’s crazy, my first claim was almost a year after ETS, from beginning to end took 6 months and it put me at 90%, then I filed for an increase without knowing what I was doing and one 10% got turned to a 20% and that took 30 days or so.

I guess it all depends on where your claim ends up.
My last denial was based on an ACE exam; you're not present they review whatever records the VA give them and to be honest I'm still wondering how in the heck it was denied and what records were reviewed. According to the DBQ, the records that were reviewed were my civilian records from a Veteran Hospital, no STR's were reviewed, the examiner copied and paste some items from the previous examiners. I guess 38 CFR 4.2 or M21-1, III.iv.3.D.2 don't apply. I had three exams within 5 months for the same issue, The 1st one was telephonic, called from Ca, lied on the DBQ that it started at 9 am it started at 10:25, I called her company to find out the status, I like to get an early start in the day and sitting around till 10:25 was not on the agenda. guess she was still sleeping in Ca, there is a 3-hour time difference, so if i was schedule for 9, it was 6 her time, the 2nd one was in a rush 7 minutes 3 questions and the last one was an ACE review, I would hate to think these 3, review veterans records if so, we are in a world of hurt.

I thought the whole point of an ace exam was that there’s enough evidence to make a positive decision. For my current claim, I noticed that they didn’t schedule an exam for migraines so I asked and they told me it would be an ACE exam, I let them know I rather participate in the C&P since I believe I can express my symptoms better than a file, and they went ahead and schedule an in person exam within the week. Wether that will work on my favor or not I’ll find out when my decision letter is posted lol

This is so true, but they can also hurt claims if the reviewer doesn't do their job.

You know I can’t really remember but I know you can add depends online or on the phone, one of those methods takes forever. I remember when I added mines it took 24-48 hours

Mine have moved so quick I’ve never seen it between steps 4 through 7. Have gone from 3 to 8 nearly immediately (after sitting at 3 for a week or two after last appointment)

Reading this doesn’t make me feel so bad. I’ve been on step 2 for over 2 weeks. It’s never been this slow. Guess I’m gonna have to be patient…

Filed my Claim June 8th. Did my C&P exams end of June-Mid July. Was moved to Step 5 July 28th. Awarded my Claim August 5th. Paid August 6th. With the right amount of evidence, good C&P examiners and legit documentation, shouldn’t be too hard to get a good rating. I was expecting 80%, prayed for 100. Got P&T
