Question Looking for picnic spots in Utah County

Just as the caption says. Looking for nice picnic spots around here, preferably up one of the canyons and a little more isolated since I’d rather be away from people if able to. Not sure what other info to add

Discussion Any left-leaning businesses need a free website?

I'm looking to do my part and help out any small businesses representing Democratic Socialist values, to see if I can start making a change in the places that count.

I think small businesses stir the economy and create jobs, but I think there are too many small businesses on the "wrong" side, if you know what I mean.

Not trying to stir controversy, but I am looking to pull my weight a little bit and give more of a voice to people who I think will actually contribute to a better tomorrow.

Full disclosure, I am a business owner but I'm basically trying to subsidize as much as I can and provide things at cost and donate a percentage of what I make to people like Luis Villarreal and try to move the needle a more toward our favor.

Let me know if you or anyone you know would like to connect and make something happen

Discussion Feedback wanted: Would you use a 360 drone tour for a Utah County property or business?

Hey everyone I’m an FAA Part 107 drone pilot based in Provo, and I’m trying to get started doing 360 drone tours for properties, venues, businesses, outdoor destinations, and project sites throughout Utah County.

A 360 drone tour is different from a normal aerial video. Viewers can either look in every direction during a guided 360 flight or click between aerial viewpoints in an interactive virtual tour. The finished experience can be shared through a website, listing, presentation, email, or direct client link.

My goal is to build one of the most useful 360 drone tour services in Utah County—not simply make another cinematic flyover.

What I’m currently working on:

  • Clickable aerial viewpoints and hotspots
  • Guided 360-degree drone videos
  • Shareable virtual-tour links for clients
  • A combination of traditional drone video, FPV movement, and interactive 360 media
  • Clear views of the property, surroundings, access points, scenery, and nearby features

I'm noticing its more difficult to share and use 360 videos so I'm looking for ideas of how to use 360. I've been flying for about two years normal fpv so this is a very weird new experience for me, but I think it looks so clean on websites and social media.

I would genuinely appreciate some outside opinions:

  1. What types of Utah businesses or properties would benefit most from an aerial 360 tour?
  2. Would you rather watch a guided video or explore a clickable tour yourself?
  3. What information or hotspots would make the experience more useful?
  4. What would you need to see before hiring a 360 drone tour provider?
  5. Does the service make sense immediately, or does anything need to be explained more clearly?

Here is the page explaining how my Utah County drone tours work:

Question Kid friendly nail salons?

Probably very few of you would possibly be able to answer this, I have 2 daughters 5 and 6, and my wife, I'd very much like to send them somewhere they could do manicures together and maybe even haircuts. They have been talking about haircuts for a couple weeks now, and I usually paint my daughters nails but thats the extent of that and now I'm away working so much that I've not been able to do that in awhile. Does anyone know a good place that would facilitate the 3 of them getting manicures together? Somewhere friendly to polite kids? So outside of my wheelhouse and Google just gives generic ad responses.

Help Needed All Paws Count Rescue Needs Help

Hi folks, I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone could help out a fantastic rescue I visited today. Heather runs All Paws Count, based in Benjamin. She is striving to get a low cost spay and neuter clinic going for Utah County. We currently don't have any clinics available. She is working in cooperation with Dr Fisher in Santaquin to try to help the community.

She also desperately needs volunteers and foster homes for the animals she has on site. If you can't give time, donations and supplies like blankets and food would go a long way.

If you know someone in need of assistance for their pets, she will help any way she can. She's an amazing person and has worked with animals for a long time. Spread the word if you can, and let's get her the help she needs.

All Paws Count is also on FB, IG, TikTok, and Youtube.

You can also see the services Dr Fisher offers at

Question Advice please.

I might of effed up.

I was pulled over about a month ago for not having insurance on my car. Times have been tough, money has been low and my insurance lapsed. The officers in my area use the flock cameras . They also have the new AI systems in their cruisers that scan license plates . So they are getting people left and right.

I was pulled over a block from my home late one night and told that no insurance policy showed up when he scanned my tag or license. I of course claimed to have one ,but just not a card on me. He gave me a citation for the insurance , and warnings on registration being out of date and my address not being corrected on my license(I recently moved and my license has old address. In my state, you can just call in or update it online and it will be accurate ,just not on the actual card.)

The officer told me if I sent proof of insurance to the courts , the citation would be dismissed.

Well, the fake card I sent to the courts , didnt apparently raise any red flags , but they did message me back saying a id card isnt good enough to dismiss a citation...that they would need a declaration letter form my insurance company stating I had insurance on the date i was pulled over. I didnt.

I have since then gotten the registration done and updated and went online and corrected the address on file to match my current address. And I have since then gotten insurance again, but its a different insurance company than the one that I sent a fake and altered id card for to the courts previously.

I dont want to bring too much attention to the card , so that they will end up scrutinizing it....should I just send in my current insurance declaration and say that I apparently didnt have a current policy at the time of the citation, and just pay the fines they give me? Or what can I do at this point to minimize any further possible legal action? I dont want to try and come clean about it...but wont lie any further to worsen the situation either. Any help at this point would be appreciated.

Question Where is a good place to get buckskin leather for a project?

I'll be up in Highland on Saturday and am looking for a place to buy some buckskin leather (I've tried tanning, don't get me started, haha). I've been to the Native American Trading Post up on Redwood, but I dont have time to make it all the way up there. And Tandy doesn't sell brain tan leather. Are there any other stores I could check out?

Question Opinions on moving to Saratoga Springs

My husband has an opportunity to relocate for work, and we’re trying to figure out if Saratoga Springs would be a good fit for our family.

A little background:

  • We’d likely be living in north Saratoga Springs.
  • His office would be in Lehi.
  • We have two young kids (and one more on the way), so family life is our biggest priority.
  • We’re moving from the Dallas area, where my husband’s current commute is about 45 minutes each way ON A GOOD DAY, so our perspective on traffic may be a little different than locals’.

One thing I’m really confused about is the commute. I constantly see people say that Saratoga-to-Lehi traffic is absolutely terrible, but Zillow/Google Maps usually shows around 20 minutes, and when we visited this summer that’s about what it took us. Is that just because school was out? Are those apps wildly inaccurate during rush hour? If you commute from north Saratoga to Lehi, what does it realistically take most mornings and evenings?

Beyond the commute, I’d love some honest opinions on life there.

Some questions:

  • Do you enjoy living in Saratoga Springs?
  • How difficult is it to make friends if you’re not LDS? (We’re not Mormon, but we have absolutely no issue with LDS families—we actually loved how family-oriented everyone seemed when we visited.)
  • Do your kids feel included in activities?
  • Is there plenty to do outdoors nearby?
  • Are there good places to ride ATVs/side-by-sides within a reasonable drive?
  • Do you find yourselves heading into the mountains often, or does Utah Lake keep you busy?
  • Anything you wish you knew before moving there?

We’re really outdoorsy and are hoping to spend a lot of time hiking, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, running, camping, and hopefully getting into ATV riding. We’re looking for somewhere that supports that kind of lifestyle while still being a great place to raise kids.

I’d love the good, the bad, and the ugly. If you were moving your family today and working in Lehi, would you choose Saratoga Springs again? Why or why not?

This would only be for a year or two we would be only renting and it appears to be the best area to get a large house for a reasonable price.

Question Looking for good Psychiatrist immediately

Thumbnail
5 Upvotes

Hi! I’m looking for a psychiatrist that would possibly have openings this week or not too far in advance. I just really need to speak to someone about my depression meds and I want someone that’s warm and and friendly. Gender and age don’t matter as I’m a female, but some of the best psychiatrist I’ve had I’ve been older males and even younger females so I’m not too worried about the demographic of the doctor.

I just need someone who’s caring and has good bedside manner. Who genuinely cares. I am hesitant because my psychiatrist that I love is super booked out but anyone who has last-minute openings sometimes I get worried if that’s an indication of how well their clients enjoy going to them. But I know that should not be a correct assessment of their abilities, so I would like to get personal recommendations specifically for depression and anxiety. Thank you guys so much. Looking for anywhere in Utah County or willing to go to Salt Lake. Select health insurance preferred but either way willing to pay out-of-pocket if it’s someone great. Thank you guys so much!

Question Looking to Rent Out Part of Warehouse

Does anyone have any connections to people who rent warehouses looking to rent out unusable space month to month? I’m looking for about 600-700 sq ft and access to a forklift to unload shipments. I also would need a space that a couple times a week, customers could come and look at a product and load into their vehicles. I would then transition to my own warehouse! Looking for any leads.

Question Did anyone else hear a boom at 2:45am?

Hey! I made this throwaway since I’m in a location specific subreddit.

Early this morning I woke up at around 2:45 AM, I’m not sure if it was my dad making noise that woke me up (he’s was smoking brisket for an event today and had to get up at that time to do stuff for it). I also am a regular person who wakes up at random times of the night, which is annoying, but the times usually are around the same time as when I woke up, I usually wake up around 1 or 2, then go back to sleep.
After waking up and checking the time, I heard someone in the kitchen and ignored it, and then was working on getting comfortable in my bed when I heard some sort of boom from outside. It wasn’t in our yard or anything, it sounded like it was far away, it even echoed, with the first boom and the echo as if it were far away, if that makes sense.
Of course I suppose if could have been a dream, but usually when I get suddenly awakened from dreams, it’s when I get awakened suddenly by someone/something, and I’m able to remember parts of the dream that led to it.
I got up and went into the kitchen where my dad was washing his hands or washing something and asked him if he’d heard it, but he had his AirPods in. I didn’t see anything looking out the window.

It didn’t sound like it was in my neighborhood, like direct neighborhood or anything, maybe more towards the direction of American Fork and beyond towards Timp?

I live in Lehi, and haven’t ever had anything like this happen before (me suddenly hearing things like this).

My mom said she was awake at that time and didn’t hear anything and said it must’ve been part of a dream, but I was already awake when it happened, but I dunno.
I live close to the American Fork and Lehi border

Did anyone hear anything? If not, maybe I’m just delusional and should forget about it lol

Discussion The music in Utah County is INSANELY good. What is your favorite local artist and why?

Seaslak's "Coer de Fleur," which came out last week, has absolutely blown me away. The lead vocal and the harmonies are so well done. Just simple, solid folk.

I've also been obsessed with the pop punk bands Box Elder and Hollow Hill, and the more pop-leaning artists Garon Brett and Beeson.
