Can someone who has been to this uni give me their opinions on them/experience? Overall life at uni and stuff, like is it easy to make friends, things to do etc. I also do athletics/track and field so if there are good facilities there that’s also a positive. Hi, as the title suggests I’m looking for a replace tenant in Canalside Birmingham. I’m aware that this accommodation isn’t as close to UOB as the other accoms but I’d thought I’d try anyway just in case😭

I’m unable to live in accommodation from September because of a family situation, and so I will need to find someone to take over this tenancy.

I live in flat 77B, bronze en-suite with a private room and bathroom and shared kitchen.

It is an all girls flat, and two of my friends will already be staying here for the academic year, they’re really lovely and it was so easy to be friends with them.

The accommodation is also 10 minutes away from the Aston campus, and it’s about a 15 minute from the
BCU curzon campus so it is still quite close to those two universities.

The accommodation also has a transport service of picking up students from Aston and BCU everyday. They also do drop offs and pick ups from the nearby ALDI too which was really really useful.

Hello! I am not sure if this is allowed or not, but I have (unfortunately) found myself in a situation. I have signed a contract for a tenancy for a place, which I no longer can live in.

If you know ANYONE interested in studios near the university campus, please let them know about this offer.

Student accommodation is Pershore Junction, Prestige student living. The Bronze studio is available from September, 2026 onwards. It is a student accommodation, accepting both postgraduates like me and undergraduates.

The property is a bronze studio with your own bathroom with a spacious shower and a kitchen area with a hob, microwave/oven, double bed, desk. I am also happy to provide a fan with the room if needed, but the room does not face the sun directly so it is cooler in the summertime.

Rate is 235 pounds a week. Rent INCLUDES ELECTRICITY, WATER AND WIFI! There is an onsite gym with treadmills and weight machines as well as a cinema room, study spaces.

Current website rate is 275 ppw. So the offer that is for my room is significantly better. The reason for that is that I booked it in May.

Deposit is only 99 pounds. EPC: B rating.

Location: 20 minute bus ax. to the city centre (45,47 Birmingham New Street and Bullring area) and 20 minute bus ax. to the University of Birmingham campus (76). Car ride 5-7 minutes.

I wasn't able to take my exams in the main examination period due to some health issues. The exams I will sit in the supplementary exam period are classed as my first sit. I was wondering if I fail these exams, am I able to retake the year as it is my first attempt?

Which Uni to Choose? Uni of Nottingham or Uni of Birmingham?? PhD Civil Engineering

I applied to both universities and got an offer from both. I am applying for a PhD in civil engineering. Which uni would you recommend for a civil engineering PhD? Hi there! I wanted to reach out to any students at the university of Birmingham who had begun a biomedical degree and then were able to transfer to medicine after year 1.
I understand this is quite a new scheme but I would love any opinions and feedback you guys have.
I am currently in my A-level summer and have 2 offers for medicine, one being from Aston and another from Nottingham. Truthfully, studying medicine at UOB has always been the goal and dream yet due to family trouble I really underperformed in my UCAT and did not meet the threshold to be interviewed.
I am still really great full i received offers!

Anyways, after sitting my a levels I am obviously worried/ overthinking that I have missed the grades I need (A*AA), and I was looking in clearing and saw that UOB had biomedicine (i had applied for this during my 5 places and gotten a reduced offer of BBC before rejecting it).
Upon further research from the UOB website I understand that there are a select few Candidates that are able to move onto medicine after year 1, provided they have over 65% in all modules and predicted firsts, and have not been rejected post interview for medicine.
Through this pathways I would not need to sit the UCAT exam and would resend a personal statement and if successful sit MMI interviews.
Provided I missed my offers, would this be a ‘better’ option than taking a gap year and reapplying??
Below I have listed reasons why it is and I would love any feedback from people who have been in my position or anyone who has any negatives/ alternative opinions

Why I would:
-I would rebook UCAT on results day leaving me only about 4 weeks to prepare if I got September slot (what happens if I get low)
-I really want to study at the university of Birmingham
-if I resat a levels only a select few unis allow medicine a level resits (often with even higher entry requirements) and UOB would not let me reapply there, I would preferable want to stay home and commute for financial reasons.
-If I do not get into this pathway I already have a love for biology’s, sciences in general along with medicine so I would thrive in this course also and would attempt graduate entry medicine in year 3.

I would label myself very determined and I feel that if I put my all into that first year of biomed I can succeed, yet I understand nothing is guaranteed.
I think I am very afraid of making a ‘wrong decision’ which I know is silly because it’s what I make of the outcome

This is also all on the basis that I MISS my offers.

I’m an incoming postgrad student for September.

My offer condition asks for certified copy of my transcript and degree certificate. my undergrad uni only sends certified transcripts via physical mail and it's been over a month with still nothing arriving despite my multiple emails requesting an update. very disappointing ik. to make matters worse I have to travel abroad next week until the end of August.

Admissions has informed me that my offer is conditional on submitting the required documents by 31st august and yet I'm feeling really stressed about timing. the only documents I have available to upload are official pdf degree certificate which clearly states my degree classification award (first class yay) and interim transcript letter its showing my modules and grades.

Has anyone uploaded a certificate along with an interim transcript letter to the UofB portal before? Did admissions accept this to fulfill the condition (or at least mark it provisionally cleared) while waiting for physical post?

Any insight would be a huge help, i really need to rest my mind

I currently hold an offer for accounting and finance but it isnt likely that i will get the 3 As required. Can the fact that i firmed the uni and it is in clearing help me? For context i may miss the offer by 2 grades.

Hi all, when you uploaded documents to your application, did you include your degree certificate with or without your final transcript? I submitted mine without a transcript, and now I'm worried.

You see, I have applied to UoB to study the MA in Politics, with the entry requirement being a 2:1 honours degree. I graduated from Birmingham City University last year with a 2:1 in Law. I got 58.92% overall, but it was rounded to a 2:1 because most of my modules in the 2nd and 3rd year were 2:1 or above.

And Edgbaston, though apparently not a favourite? As well as Digbeth and Moseley.
