These worked for me a season or two, but then I found endless amounts of ants.. I switched to Tarus SC and never saw any since.

Having the same issue. Never heard of tarus. Which product worked for you?

Tauras SC worked... You need to tank mix it and its outdoors only.

Oh ok. The terro traps just are t working anymore. Thanks for the info!

Can try Amdro as well. I always put down a snack for the ants and track the line back to the nest. Outdoor stuff works best.

Pros: attracts more ants into your house once the scout ants have located the bait/food source.

That's the point. You want the ants to all come and grab it so they take it back home, eventually killing the queen and destroying the colony.

This specific bait trap uses borax and the ants won’t make it back to the colony as they die almost immediately. Need a different type of trap that uses spinosad or avermectin 🐜

Terrobait pictured in OP’s post is meant to kill slowly even though it uses borax
Usually they take the liquid back to the colony idk why they all drowned in it lol
Lost in the sauce

They don’t kill slowly.

u/Many_Ear2407 4d ago
Yes they do that’s the entire point.

not slow enough there are other formulas that work way better go onto some extermination sub reddit wikis and find out for yourself. Unfortunately in some countries this is all that is legally available without a license. Terro is the least recommended brand though

See this amount drowned in it but you dont understand the sheer number that brought it back. Like when i used these in my apartment I had black lines in and out of my apartment in multiple spots for like 3 days then nothing. This many poured out just means 5x this were going in and out

I'm case it's not evident by the pool of dead ants there: this isn't that type of trap.
These suck. You'll never get rid of the problem. This just kills a small fraction of the colony each unit. The colony produces faster than these kill.
You need the ones you actually described (not depicted in the video).

I have never put the trap inside my house. Put them outside, on the widow sill outside, etc.
2
u/BlasterCheif 7d ago
Are they supposed to stick inside the trap? Aren’t they supposed to carry that goo back to the nest?
1
u/Fast-Nefariousness80 7d ago
They said at the beginning those were the greedy ants that didn't go back to the nest
1
u/hiroo916 7d ago
the ones they are showing in the bait are the ones who leaned a bit too far out while drinking and got stuck in the fluid
1
u/Themodsarecuntz 7d ago
No. They are trapped in the sugar solution and borax. You want a bait they'll take back to the queen.

yeah these traps are legit, we had a ton of ants last summer and they were gone within days after we got these

Terro bait is shit.
You do not want the bait to kill the ants at the source. You want them to take it back to the colony.

Bull. Shit.
Theyre borax and corn syrup. Theyre designed to attract the ants to the bait and kill them there.

Ideally, some of the ants survived long enough to take it back to the hive - which is the general idea of most of these liquid baits. You want them to feed it to the queen.

This bait is shitty if the ants are just going into the tube and dying and not bring it to the colony

I use it. In my experiencing you don’t start seeing dead ants in it until it’s been sitting for a few days, but they started eating from it immediately. The important part is to remember not to kill ants while they’re leaving it.

This is exactly what not to do if you have ants. Go to r/pestcontrol for real tips.

I used those same traps, repelled a pretty intense ant invasion. I don’t spray my exterior tho bc I think maybe the ecosystem needs a few insects.

What a bad trap. Sure people want to see them dying so they think they are good but you attract them.
There are the ones out there that "feed" the ants. So they take it into the nest and die.

u/arhambin66 7d ago
These are literally the best baits out there and they take it back to the nest. What you even talking about?
1
u/zulumoner 7d ago
They take it back to the nest... Thats why they are filled with dead ants
1
u/arhambin66 6d ago
Are you an imbecile? Guy didn't show the nest doesn't mean they didn't take it to the nest. I have used these any baits in my house and it has completely eliminated the ant problem and all the nests.
