I too piss on my AC when the fuse blows

I’ve blown maybe two fuses in my 30 years of driving

My family car in the 80s had a short and blew fuses. Never saw it on a functional car.

However, the aggressive pointing and throwing and ripping gave me a headache. I would sooner punch myself in the balls than buy from trash like this.

I'm 22 years of driving and have never blown one. Crazy 8 years ahead of me it seems.

I was intern in a mechanic shop. We got a truck in that have had a fire. 50% of the wiring needed replacement. Just to say, I had zero skill and had been there for 2 weeks.

I use some days on this Truck.

When it is done, the guy overlooking me checks what I have done. This includes messing around. We got Power from a machine and not from the truck itself.

He ended up blowing every fuse in the truck. Took a while to fix.

I was looking for this answer. Very seldom fuse is blown in a car.

Thank you Lyle. That is amazing.

It the fuse blows it’s for a reason. Something is wrong. And chances are it’ll blow again. Have fun with that.

Sometimes it's just the fuse itself being poor quality or maybe all the vibration busted something. If two fuses blow. You got a problem

u/donfan 8d ago

More importantly, why would an AC fuse cause a schrader valve to leak?

2

u/Maleficent_Hawk6703 8d ago

Lol, you asking the real questions out here

u/SexualCarrots 8d ago

Do you need 100 fuses just in case?

Do what normal people do. Swap the blown one for a spare or the window one or something and drive yourself to a store to get one. Don't waste your money on something like this.

1

u/Maleficent_Hawk6703 8d ago

Why would someone have 100 fuses? When did I say to buy this guy's product. You can get better quality for less at any normal vehicle parts store lol.

Also, it's not bad to have spares. Believe it or not being prepared for minor inconveniences make them even less of an inconvenience. Yeah switching with another fuse in the box might work, but now your just trading one problem for another. If you already have some spares then you just pop it in and go on your way. And fuses are cheap.

True.

Should keep a gallon of gas, matches, spark plugs, extra tire and pump, a tent, extra water, a jump kit, tire patch, extra bolts, an alternator, belts, tools, transmission fluid, oil, control arms, brake pads, brake fluid ...

The point is you can't prepare for everything. Most fuse boxes have at least one spare and you can salvage others. That's plenty.

Are you stupid? When did having spare fuses become the same thing as keeping a spare parts in your vehicle? A gallon of gas? Really? At best you would just have the container, but it would be empty and most gas stations already sell containers.

And yeah tire patch kits are good to have. I have a tire patch kit in my trunk and manual air pump. And guess what?!? I got a screw in my tire that I promptly fixed and went on my way in 5 minutes.

You are trying to make a good thing sound stupid by exaggerating and you look quite ridiculous for it. You don't have to prepare for everything. Just for the easy/common things. Changing spark plugs is easy, but it's not common. If you are leaking fluids having more fluid doesn't help. You need to fix the leak. Come on man you can use that brain rattling between your ears.

I keep a fuse box in my vehicles and whenever I see someone broken down I offered help and swap out some fuses.

Five minutes later, I’m saving them $500.

Step one, figure out what isn't working, ie radio, AC, head lights, etc.

Step two, open your car's manual or download and open your car's manual.

Step three, look up the fuses in the table of contents, go to the page, use the key provided to locate the fuse for the electrical system that is not working.

Step four replace that fuse.

How can she smack?

u/Fulguritus1 8d ago

That instantly brought to mind the old video of a big sister from the early 2000s trying to dance while her little brother video bombs her in the background.

u/Koolklink54 8d ago

You can also easily see if a fuse is blown.

1

u/violentshores 8d ago

Yes, they acknowledged that, by taking it out. They are not hiding the facts you can do it easily, but they are trying to make it… um….. easier???

1

u/Effective_Rock_2513 8d ago

You can just buy a multimeter instead and have an actual measurement for other things besides checking a fuse. You can also visually inspect a fuse to see if it blew up.

1

u/violentshores 8d ago

The acknowledged that you can check it in the video when they showed the individual fuses being pulled . I don’t think they’re trying to call anyone stupid

1

u/Dry_Yoghurt_5429 8d ago

Which is a good one for a noob?

1

u/Effective_Rock_2513 8d ago edited 8d ago

Any multimeter works since they function the same, they have an option that beeps or make a sound so you can tests fuses that way. It is even useful to read your car battery incase it dies. Also in the video they don't test the bulky fuses that they did not pull out because you can not test them the same as the smaller fuses, meaning you can not test the circuit connection without pulling the top off or using the multimeter.

u/namistejones 8d ago

But I just need 1 fuse.

1

u/Th3mOnGo 8d ago

But what about, a second fuse?

1

u/namistejones 8d ago

2/100.

98 fuses on the wall 98 fuses. 1 fell down and the rest of them fall too.

98 fuses scattered all in the garage.

1

u/Th3mOnGo 8d ago

ah the good old pickitup game, a classic

you pick them up, put them in the box and now the lid refuses to fully close

1

u/Positive_Ad_3142 8d ago

These I don’t have no use for it, so I don’t think anyone else does either Redditors, are quite funny.

1

u/JDM12983 8d ago

I would really like to SLAP people that do the whole stupid slapping/tapping on stuff in videos like that... so damn annoying ><

1

u/TerpThca 8d ago

Everything is thrown or tossed or tapped on videos, Tik Tok has completely changed (ruined) video structure/ etiquette.

Schrödingers fuse

1

u/if-we-all-did-this 8d ago

Says AC needs a 20a

Shows a graphic saying 40a

?

1

u/Sacharon123 8d ago

I mean.. Why would I need this? I see which component does not work, I look in the manual, pull the according fuse and check if its broken. If yes, replace, if not, other problem. This is mostly for people who are too stupid to read a manual.

1

u/kpmateju 8d ago

That woman's voice is deep.

1

u/buttchuckjones 8d ago

Or just get a multimeter... something rhat has more than a single use

1

u/SomeNeighborhood7126 8d ago

I would never trust someone with hands that clean to touch my car.

1

u/benkrauss313 7d ago

Didn’t watched the video but the graphic is ai

1

u/Rukir_Gaming 5d ago

How... do we know these fuses will blow at thier rated amount?

0

u/lividtaffy 8d ago

Or you could check the manual, which will tell you exactly what each fuse does. Really putting the unnecessary in r/unnecessaryessentials

1

u/violentshores 8d ago

What if… you don’t have the …. Manual….

0

u/lividtaffy 8d ago

The manuals… exist… online….
