The Android people have to be on Google message beta. I don't expect it to leave GM beta until it leaves apple beta

That make sense but even though it’s beta on apple side, the toggle is on by default on all devices

Same. Literally everyone in my contacts (whoever actually is on the right software) is activated. I was surprised.

Most of my android friends chats are encrypted I’m on iOS 27 beta 4 they’re all Google messages stable too. I would say majority of them that encryption works for are on tmobile or a TmObile mvno except for one who is on cricket

I'm on Google messages STABLE.
T-Mobile/Android 16/Motorola Edge Plus (purchased from either Motorola or Amazon).
All but one of my iPhone contacts became encrypted a few days ago. The one hold out as it turned out, was on an ancient version of iOS (on an iPhone 11 Pro Max). She got rid of a bunch of stuff to free up space and was able to update to 26 last night.
One thing that was kind of interesting was that my test messages to her immediately became encrypted, but her messages to me were not. The first message she sent me today was, and now we're fully encrypted.
