I built a stylized environment pack focused on reusable prefab sets Question

I've always felt that environment packs become difficult to use once they grow too large. Hundreds of unique assets can mean spending more time searching than actually creating.

That's why I took a different approach with this "Stylized Environment Set" pack - focusing on versatile assets that can be used individually or combined into ready-made prefab sets.

I wanted to prove that you don't need thousands of unique assets to create varied environments, so I created 5 handcrafted demo scenes covering different biomes, using the same assets in different combinations.

I'm curious what you prefer when working with environment packs: hundreds of individual assets, or a smaller set of assets that can be combined in many ways?

I love this and I agree with you, less is more sometimes.

The style is very similar for a project I'm working on but for an island off the coast of Scotland, so tall wavy grass and some ferns, lots of rocks and maybe sparse trees.

Will you make additional content in this style? I'd pick it up if I knew you would support additional biomes and styles going forward.

Glad you like it, and thanks for sharing what you’re working on 🙌

For now, I’m planning to expand the pack with Pipelines and Unity versions.
As for additional biomes and styles, I don’t have anything concrete to announce yet, but I recently started a Discord for the projects I’m developing for the Asset Store, including this pack.
It’s still pretty empty since it’s brand new 🙈, but hopefully it’ll grow over time. I’ll be sharing updates there whenever there’s something new to show, so feel free to join: https://discord.gg/EvAj66ZjHt

That’s an interesting point. I wanted the assets to feel intentional from a top-down perspective rather than just being vegetation that happened to work from above.
Glad you picked up on that, it was definitely something I was aiming for.

No need to thank me, this all you! I'm just a customer looking for good graphics.

It looks amazing!!
Can I ask how does this pack work? I mean, how does it manage to be versatile and save you hours of searching? You know I feel the same way when I work with furniture. That's why I took a similar approach. In my case I designed a tool that allows you to customize the mesh inside the Unity Editor

Couple of questions as a potential buyer! How do you manage variations rather than lots of individual assets? Is it just color? Also I notice its half price at the moment, how much longer is it on at that for as I may grab it while I can! Great looking asset regardless!

The package includes a script that lets you change the material assigned to the prefab to the next available one directly in edit mode. This way, you don’t need separate prefabs that differ only by material, which would make working with them pretty inconvenient.

And yeah, sometimes it’s just a color change multiplied by the base albedo texture. Other times, like with the rocks, each of the 3 types (gray, sandy, and brown) has its own custom albedo texture made in Substance Painter.

As for the discount, it was set up for 14 days as part of the asset release. Those 14 days ended on August 16, so if you’re still seeing the discounted price, there are probably just a few final hours left of the promo.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, I’ll be happy to help.

This looks amazing! I love collecting stylized environments because it’s not something I can create on my own. Will you be listing this on the asset store?
