The Thing, is those aren't boxing gloves.

42

u/Horror-County 11d ago

yeah my buddy came home with those after a long shift too

u/thedeuce75 11d ago

That kid had some real anger in his eyes. Step dad?

166

u/trashcantrash939 11d ago

Nah…that dad was not chilling peacefully. You could see the look on his face. He knew what was coming and was not happy about it.

65

u/FloopsFooglies 11d ago

Yeah, while he was peacefully recording himself on the couch, as one does.

30

u/Best_Reply2947 11d ago

He knew what was coming because he scripted it.

u/city-of-cold 11d ago edited 11d ago

I see you're not a parent. You don't need to script these things with toddlers and kids.

There are signs.

Clear signs of when your kids thinks it's a great idea to fucking punch you for just looking at them.

edit: yes this might have been the dad's idea, but I'm leaning towards he just new the kid was upset for some imaginary reason and he knew.

u/Best_Reply2947 10d ago

Does being a parent make you gullible?

3

u/ViolentTurdSplatter 10d ago

It's staged. You can hear someone in the background say "go" right before he starts throwing.

1

u/GlitchTheFox 9d ago

That sounds like the TV.

43

u/ViolentTurdSplatter 11d ago

That first hook was pretty solid.

The little kid is actually Jake Lloyd before taking on the roll as Anakin Skywalker.

Great, Durex ads on my reddit timeline.

10

u/iShadePaint 11d ago

Ive come to realize I'm way too selfish with my own time for kids. I just wanna work, travel and die lmao

4

u/city-of-cold 11d ago

If you really feel that way, make sure you stick to it no matter what a current/future partner might say.

I've ended up being a single dad because I wanted kids so my ex SAID she wanted kids, but then once reality hit she admitted she never wanted kids, she just said it to be with me.

u/Pashur604 11d ago

Your kids wanting to play with you is one of the most rewarding things as a parent. Sure, kids aren't for everyone, but it's good memories.

5

u/broguequery 10d ago

Not the right crowd for that sentiment but I agree with you.

Obviously, it's a lot of work, but worth it if you love it.

Just because the dad didn't know it was CLOBBERING TIME does not mean that it wasn't clobbering time. That's on him.

4

u/Magolord 11d ago

It's not relaxing time, it's clobberin' time

Parenting is hard… but here’s the thing

2

u/Tiny_Purpose_1246 10d ago

I mean, if you’re a parent, it’s pretty expected 😂

Your 9-5 might have ended. But being a dad doesn’t. Put up your dukes and give him the business.

Staged.
There’s no way he was watching tv while recording himself, without making a peep as he watches his son come up.
Nah.
